This season just keeps on getting better for St Asaph bowler Jason Foulkes, who is set to make his full three-day Wales international debut on Sunday having impressed in his previous limited overs appearances.

Foulkes, 27, has already shone for his country at the T20 and 50-over formats in 2022.

Now comes another big opportunity for the paceman on Sunday for Wales NC as they open up their NCCA 3 Day Championship against Devon at Abergavenny.

Despite coming second best to Dorset last Sunday, Wales still did enough on net run rate to qualify for the latter stages of the NCCA One Day Trophy – only the second time in their history successive latter round stages have been achieved. Foulkes took 1-26 in five overs opening the bowling at The Leaze.

Wales NC will face off against current holders Berkshire at Falkland on July 17 in a repeat of last year’s semi-final.

Before that though, Sunday’s three-day game is followed by a back-to-back visit to Oswestry to take on Shropshire (10-12 July), with Glamorgan waiting to inflict some revenge on July 31 during the annual showcase fixture at Sophia Gardens. Wales won a close encounter by 2 wickets last year.

Should Wales progress past Berkshire the semi-final of the One Day Trophy awaits them on August 7.

Right-arm bowler Foulkes is set to make a championship debut after impressing across the T20 and One Day Trophy this season.

He will be the first North Walian to represent Wales in the three-day game since Ben Roberts in 2018.

Sam Jardine and Ben Morris will accompany Foulkes in the seam department after Richard Edwards called time on his championship career this week.

Play starts from Abergavenny at 11am on all three days and admittance is free.
