Jamie Grimshaw took a phenomenal 7-9 as Llandudno turned what looked like a certain defeat into victory at The Oval.
It is fair to say that after choosing to bat and being 36-7, even the most optimistic of Tudno supporters must have feared the worst.
But the hosts recovered to make a still very vulnerable 82 all out only for Grimshaw to produce the spell of a lifetime, helping dismiss stunned visitors Bangor for just 71.
Llandudno’s innings stood at 1-1, 2-2 and 3-3, Owen Reilly dismissing both openers for ducks.
Reilly continued to wreak havoc, but eventually Tom Bleasdale (35) and Kai Page (23) managed to make a few, helping the hosts get to 82 all out.
Wales NC North bowler Reilly finished with an excellent 5-19 off 10, while Idrees Ijaz scooped 2-10.
If Llandudno’s early innings was chaotic, then Bangor’s equivalent was even more catastrophic.
The visitors plummeted to 5-4 and then 23-5, with Grimshaw taking all five wickets.
Robbie Marshall stayed calm in the crisis, but when he was bowled by Grimshaw for 31, the citizens were 47-6 and in a whole lot of trouble.
Bangor fell to 53-9 before the last pair put on 18, but Ethan Hill took the final wicket with the total on 71.
Grimshaw’s amazing analysis read: 10 overs, seven maidens, seven wickets for nine runs.
An unforgettable game for all involved and for differing reasons.
In-form skipper Gethin Roberts excelled with bat and ball as leaders Menai Bridge chalked up a six-wicket success at The Ring.
Roberts, who took a superb 3-23 on debut for Wales NC North in their T20 win at Staffordshire in midweek, top-scored and claimed three wickets in another productive day for the Anglesey side.
Llay elected to bat and were bowled out for 127, Joe Howell 33 and Tom Parry 30, Mathew Jones 3-20, captain Roberts 3-23, Calum Andrews 2-13 and Dion Holden 2-19 for the islanders.
Roberts finished 43 not out as Bridge reached 128-4 in 26.4 overs, opener Jack Gower adding 40, Howell 3-31 for the hosts.
Opener Dan Evans made his best score to date as a Saints player of 78 not out in a convincing win for the champions at Chester Road.
The all-rounder, who joined St Asaph this year from Llandudno, also made it back-to-back league fifties on Saturday.
Mold batted first and were all removed for 166, Kieron Coppack (39) and Richard Deniz (32) putting on a fighting 51 for the seventh wicket.
Danny Ryan did best for Saints with 3-21, Jurie Norval collecting 2-11 and Liam Moores 2-18.
Asaph took just 21.5 overs to reach 168-1, skipper William Ryan (31) forming an 82 opening stand with Evans.
Evans hit 11 fours and three sixes in his 59-ball unbeaten 78, while Nathanael Scott was 45 not out in an unbroken second wicket partnership of 84.
Jake James made his highest score for Brymbo and third biggest of his career as the Steelmen compiled a mighty total against Pwllheli.
Signed this season from Gwersyllt Park, James smashed 130 off just 81 balls, cracking 17 fours and three sixes with a strike rate of 160.49.
Brymbo, who won the toss and decided to bat, amassed 337-6 off 50 overs, Mohamed Nilam Jayman (60) concocting a 114-run stand with James for the fourth wicket and Henry Lunn (51) adding another 56 with the century man.
Iwan Moore took 3-49 for the visitors.
Pwllheli produced a spirited reply, at least securing a point as they ended on 241-9, skipper Jason Underwood 70 and Christopher Taylor 45.
Daniel Parry picked up 3-45 and Seth Agard 3-47 as Brymbo took the honours 14-1.
Skipper Matthew Thompson (86) and Joe Benson (79) came up with the big scores as Gresford successfully chased down a large total at Clappers Lane.
Choosing to bat first, visitors Northop compiled a useful 231-7 off 50 overs, Ben Beaver making 81 and Richard Walker 71, the pair forming a partnership of 113 for the fifth wicket.
Ryan Williams notched 3-37 and Jack Bunkell 2-30 for the visitors.
Thomson and Benson put on a decisive 160 for the third wicket as Gresford progressed from 39-2 to 199.
That went a long way to securing a home triumph, which was sealed in the 48th over with a score of 232-6, Charlie Collins an excellent 2-29 for Northop.
Alistair Roberts struck a career highest 109 to help Pontblyddyn achieve a 21-run victory at Swan Road.
Pont piled up 265-5 off 50 overs, opener Roberts’ ton including 10 fours, and he put on 106 for the third wicket with Tom Dawson (60).
Roberts then added another 109 for the fourth wicket alongside Jonathan Byrd (50).
Mochdre were limited to a nonetheless commendable 244-8 in response, skipper Matty Humphreys suffering the agony of being run out on 99.
Who ran him out? The century hero Alistair Roberts!
Alex Davies struck a fine 82, sharing in a combination of 163 for the fourth wicket with Humphreys.
James Hughes took 2-29 and Byrd 2-32 for the visitors.
