1ST XI FIRST DIVISION
Colwyn Bay (25) 230-4 dec Ainsdale (3) 129-10
Early First Division pacesetters Colwyn Bay made it three straight wins with a convincing display against Ainsdale at Penrhyn Avenue.
Put into bat, the hosts piled up a formidable 230-4 declared off 54.4 overs, Sion Morris (59), Luke Russell (52 no), skipper George Johansen (41 no), Zack Gidlow (34) and Will Evans (29) all making useful scores.
Russell and Johansen put on an unbeaten 85 for the fifth wicket.
Ainsdale’s Pakistan A spinner Mohammad Irfan was largely ineffective, finishing with 1-78 from 20 overs.
The visitors were bowled out for just 129, master spin bowler Paul Jenkins picking up 4-26 off 12.1, Jack Parry 2-10 from 10 and Ryan Holtby 2-24.
Northop Hall (7) 250-5 dec Highfield (6) 193-7
Ben Slater’s maiden first-team century for Northop Hall was not enough to earn his side victory at Smithy Lane.
Wicket-keeper and opener Slater hit a superb 121 before being run out, the Hall having been invited to bat after losing the toss.
Skipper Will Higginson added 56 as the hosts declared on 250-5 after 60 overs.
In reply, Highfield were 132-1, but then lost a few wickets. However, they clung on for a losing draw at 193-7 at the close.
Openers Ryan Hargreaves (73) and Michael Farrell (45) fared best for the travellers.
Young leg-spinner Joshua Leach scooped his second five-wicket haul for the firsts, taking 5-43 off 19 overs, Renit Adke 2-33.
1ST XI SECOND DIVISION
Prestatyn (4) 115-10 Wavertree (20) 177-7 dec
Not the best of days for Prestatyn with their batting ultimately letting them down.
Inserted by the hosts, Wavertree were in no rush as they declared on 177-7 off 63.3 overs, opener Theo O’Brien making 80.
Home bowler Adam Tidswell picked up 4-89 and Sampath Perera 3-43 off 21 overs.
Prestatyn were then knocked over for 115, despite a determined 36 from opener Andy Taylor, Stewart Guy the main destroyer for the Liverpudlians with 6-43.
2ND XI PREMIER DIVISION
Wallasey (9) 169-10 Colwyn Bay (25) 178-10
Captain Tom Roberts’ 59 and 45 from Ross Hudson proved key at the Bay won a thriller on the Wirral.
The North Wales visitors were bowled out for 178, Roberts and Hudson providing some middle-order heroics.
Wallasey were then dismissed for 169, Arthur Jones snapping up 5-62 and Shaun Davies 3-26 for the Bay.
2ND XI FIRST DIVISION
Wavertree (7) 110-10 Northop Hall (20) 138-10
Liam Evans Ford took a vital 4-19 as the Hall came out on top in a low-scorer in Liverpool.
Put in by the Merseysiders, the visitors were 25-3 before recovering somewhat to set a modest 138 all out, number nine bat Harry Williams top-scoring with 28 not out.
Wavertree were then sent packing for 110, skipper Evans Ford best with that four-wicket haul, but well supported by Williams (3-35) and Matthew Edwards (2-12).
2ND XI SECOND DIVISION
Highfield (20) 135-2 Prestatyn (4) 133 all out
Nine-man Prestatyn were bowled out for 133, Joe Horton 38, and Highfield eased to a winning 135-2.
