Six JD Cymru North clubs have applied for the FAW Tier 1 Licence for the 2022/23 season.

The licence is a prerequisite for participation in the top-flight JD Cymru Premier.

The six clubs are: Airbus UK Broughton, Bangor City, Buckley Town, Colwyn Bay, Guilsfield and Llandudno.

Guilsfield, currently second in the Cymru North table and the league’s only unbeaten side, are bidding to secure a Tier 1 Licence for the very first time.

Along with the six Cymru North hopefuls, all 12 current JD Cymru Premier clubs have applied, plus eight from JD Cymru South, making it 26 in all.

The Club Licensing system aims to assist the continual improvement and development of football clubs at the top level within Wales.
