Bodedern Athletic pair lead the way in latest Bob Brodie Trophy standings

There are new joint-leaders of the Bob Brodie Trophy table.

Bodedern Athletic twin strikers Marc Evans and Asa Thomas both have 25 goals apiece following last Saturday’s fantastic 5-3 FAW Amateur Trophy win over Berriew.

Evans netted three on the day, while Thomas added a double. The pair now have a remarkable 50 goals between them in all competitions with Boded having played just 16 matches since the start of the campaign.

These goal machines are arguably the two best strikers on the island, yet neither has ever won the Bob Brodie Trophy, awarded annually for the highest marksman in Anglesey senior football.

Asa has been third on no less than four occasions and second in 2013-14. He is now on 549 career goals.

Marc (Loggs) has featured in past top 10’s but has played much of his career off the island, including a record-breaking spell in New Zealand.

To have both of them playing for the same team, in the same season, is football viewing heaven.
