CPD Y Rhyl 1879 Girls & Ladies have appointed a new women’s team manager.
Darren Wardle replaces Aled Davies, who recently departed the club.
Wardle takes over a Rhyl side which reached the last 16 of the FAW Women’s Cup with a 5-1 win over NFA at the weekend and were victorious in their opening match in the North Wales League, recording a 1-0 triumph at Northop Hall on September 5.
The team wished outgoing manager Davies the best of luck for the future: “All at the club wish Aled well and would like to thank him for his time at the club over the past 3 years,” said a statement.
On his appointment Wardle commented: “It is an absolute pleasure to be at CPD Y Rhyl 1879 and great to be back at Belle Vue again having coached at the previous club’s academy.
“I am looking forward to getting started as manager of the women’s senior team and having a successful season with what appears to be a great bunch of players, continuing the fantastic work Joy (Jamieson) and Cassie (Thomas) have already done over recent times and ensuring the team keeps making progress.
“My aim will be also to ensure our player pathway is enhanced for future growth working with our girls coaches. Exciting times are ahead for our community club.”
