Martin Jones is the new Amlwch Town women’s team manager

Amlwch Town have appointed Martin Jones as its new ladies team manager.

Jones, 46, most recently served as CPD Mountain Rangers’ chairman, after helping to reform the club in 2019.

Previous roles have also seen him coaching at the Porthmadog Academy for five years; winning the Llyn & Eifionydd League with Penrhyndeudraeth; coaching Caernarfon Town’s Under 14’s and 16’s Girls and winning the North Wales Cup in 2017/18. He also coached the North Wales Coast Under-16’s.

The new Amlwch women’s team manager holds a C Licence and has also been a B Licence candidate.

He is married with two children and the family live in Rhostryfan, Caernarfon.

Club interim chairman Adrian Jones said: “We’re delighted to welcome Martin to Amlwch and look forward to him taking charge of our ladies team. We have a number of pre-season friendlies coming up and this will give him a chance to get to know the girls and start working with them.”

Martin Jones said: “I’m really looking forward to getting back into football with Amlwch. It’s a new squad and I hope that after a few training sessions and a number of challenging friendlies, we can look forward to the new season ahead with confidence.”

Amlwch’s first pre-season friendly is at home to Llangefni Town on Wednesday night, 6.45 pm kick-off.
