CPD Pwllheli FC have appointed former club captain Martin Smith as its new first team manager.
Smith has spent more than 20 years at the Llyn Peninsula club as a player.
He joined Pwllheli at the age of 12 and made his senior debut when 17, going on to clock up 450 first team appearances.
Commenting on his appointment, Martin said: ”I’m really looking forward to the challenge ahead.
“I feel I can draw on my playing experience and relationship with the players and work quickly to ensure the team competes well in this division.
“I’ll be looking to draw on the experience of the coaching team – Barrie, Carl, Gwyn and the senior players to ensure they help drive the squad forward.
“This is an exciting time for us all and a challenge we should all embrace.”
Martin is joined by his experienced coaching team – Barrie Love, Carl Machin and Gwyn Parry Jones.
The club committee said in a statement: “We are really excited with the appointment of the new coaching team.
“Their ethos of developing young local players along with the more senior players is everything we as a club have been striving to achieve.”
Pwllheli will compete in the tier 4 North Wales Coast West Premier Division this season.
