With a 21-point lead at the Division One summit, Pontblyddyn proved yet again they are the team to beat in the title race at the weekend.

Hawarden opted to bat and were bowled out for 163 in 43.3 overs, David Hughes topping the chart with 41, while Jonathan Byrd snapped up 3-28 and Ethan Roberts 2-18 for the Flintshire visitors.

ABERGELE (4) 126-10 GWERSYLLT PARK (11) 137-10

Jake James produced a tremendous display with bat and ball in Gwersyllt’s narrow victory at Pentre Mawr Park.

Skipper James top-scored with 46 as the visitors were dismissed for just 137, Rana Das 3-14, Jismon Ty 3-32 and Lewis Tolond 2-20 for Gele.

James did even better when it was his opportunity to bowl, grabbing 5-19 off 10 overs as the hosts slumped to 126 all out, having been 29-5 before the tail wagged.

BETHESDA (0) 190-10 CONNAH’S QUAY (15) 302-4

Skipper Tom Hooson hit 116 as the Quay set a mammoth total at Parc Villa which led to a 15-0 points win.

Hooson’s innings came off just 83 balls and included 15 fours and two sixes, the Deesiders amassing 302-4.

Luke Bennett (50) and Darren Jones (43) put on 94 for the first wicket, then Hooson and Rhys Stout (60 not out) added 160 for the fourth.

Ashley Rowlands picked up 3-48 for Pesda, who were then all out for 190, Nicholas Parry 64 and Richard Green 52, Mali Auty 6-40 for the rampant visitors.

DOLGELLAU (13) 215-4 RUTHIN (2) 211-4

Morgan Yorke and Stuart Evans put on an unbroken match-clinching stand of 118 for six-wicket winners Dolgellau.

Calling the coin correctly, Ruthin batted and made a useful 211-4 off 45 overs, Jac Evans (87 no) and Jamie Hughes (52 no) concocting an unbeaten 131 stand for the fourth wicket.

Considering quite a hefty total was made off the home bowling, Sam Williams ended up with quite remarkable figures of 3-12 off 10 overs.

Dolgellau were 97-4 in reply before Yorke (81 no) and Evans (47 no) ensured the hosts reached 215 without further loss in the 40th over.

MOLD (14) 134-3 LLANRWST (1) 130-10

League leading run-getter Ewan Hill struck 62 not out to pass 700 for the season and guide Mold to a straightforward win over Llanrwst.
