CARMEL & DISTRICT (4) 99-10 BUCKLEY (11) 118-8

Buckley skipper Louis Parry grabbed a crucial 4-14 as the leaders pulled off a close-fought victory at Pen-y-Gelli.

Put into bat, Bucks could only manage a modest 118-8 off 40 overs, Joel Sampson with 31, while there were vital tail-end contributions from Alex Storey (26 not out) and Jack Whitley (24 no).

Vipin James picked up 4-34 and Oliver Saynor 2-28 for the hosts.

In reply, Carmel got close but not close enough as they were dismissed for 99, Dafydd Bailey 26.

New-ball bowler Parry’s 4-14 off 7.4 overs was well-supported by Adam Shaw (3-20), but Storey (1-19), William Norman and Whitley were also importantly economical.

Substitute fielder John Norman also claimed a catch and run-out.

DENBIGH 2ND XI (0) 51-10 BERSHAM (15) 52-1

Tim Jones scooped 4-7 as Denbigh were rolled over for a low total at Ystrad Road.

After opting to bat, the hosts crumbled to 51 all out, the experienced Chris Brown (18) the only player to make double-figures.

As well as Jones’ four-wicket haul, Amith Thilakarathne took 2-6 and Rathnayaka Mudiyanselage Shanka 2-10 for the Colliers.

Suresh Lakmal Koswaththage made 36 not out as Bersham coasted to 52-1 and a 15-0 points verdict.

GRESFORD 2ND XI (2) 142-7 MOCHDRE 2ND XI (13) 143-4

Scott Roberts’ half-century did much to help Mochdre seconds comfortably get to the winning post at Clappers Lane.

Gresford set a modest 142-7 off 40 overs, Lukas Pold 38 and Georgia Munro 33, Liam Herbert 2-32 for the visitors.

Openers Roberts (52) and Callum Chambers (31) set Mochdre on their way to 143-4 in 30 overs, Owain Walker 2-33 and Mikk Pold 2-41 for the hosts.

ST ASAPH 2ND XI (15) 265-4 MOLD 2ND XI (0) 127-10

Captain Ben Murphy led the way with 90 as Saints set a huge winning score at Elwy Park Grove.

Richard Aram added 56, Roger Cloate 40 not out and Paul Fleming 30 in a total of 265-4 off 40 overs, Keith Embleton 2-47 for the visitors.

Cloate then pocketed 3-23 and Amer Jamil 2-30 as Mold were bowled out for 127, Luca Davies 51 and George Jones 33.

Paul Fleming, surely one of the finest fielders ever to compete in the league, took two catches and executed a run out.

MENAI BRIDGE 2ND X1 (14) LLAY WELFARE 2ND XI (-15)

Llay Welfare 2nd XI conceded.

MARCHWIEL & WREXHAM (14) NORTHOP 2ND XI (-15)

Northop 2nd XI conceded. Marchwiel & Wrexham lie second, three points behind leaders Buckley.
