Vitality CLUB T20 – preliminary round (L&DCC section) – Friday, May 28

Clwb Criced Bae Colwyn 164-6 (16) Northop Hall 93-9 (16)

Indian ace Vishal Kushwah smashed a ruthless 92 as Bay stormed to victory over the Hall in Friday night’s T20 knockout clash at Penrhyn Avenue.

The visitors won the toss and decided to field, which looked a decent move after they removed openers Sion Morris and Adam Campion with just 12 runs on the board.

However, Kushwah was merciless, his innings lasting just 50 balls and including nine fours and six sixes.

Wicket-keeper Luke Russell added a quick 26 not out down the order as Bay amassed 164-6 off a reduced 16 overs.

Joshua Andrady picked up 2-24 for the Flintshire side.

The Hall were limited to 93-9 from their 16, spin king Arthur Jones snaring a magnificent 5-11 off three overs for the hosts.

Will Higginson was top-scorer for the visitors with 28, Bay winning by 71 runs.

Colwyn Bay will visit Rainhill in the second round (last 16).
