Nantlle Vale v Denbigh Town

Holyhead Hotspur await in the final as Nantlle Vale and Denbigh Town try again to play this outstanding semi.

Originally scheduled for Denbigh’s ground, the weather put paid to playing it there, but an attempted switch to Penygroes last weekend brought no luck either.

If the tie does eventually go ahead it should be a good contest. Vale have lost just twice at home this season and occupy a comfortable mid-table berth in Welsh Alliance Division One, while Town lie third and are also into the last eight of the Mawddach-Barritt Cup.

Welsh National League Premier Division (2.30 pm)
Holywell Town v Cefn Albion

Probably the league match of the weekend across North Wales as the top two in the WNL Premier lock horns at Halkyn Road.

Holywell hit the summit on goal difference on Wednesday night after a 5-0 thumping of Chirk AAA.

Johnny Haseldin’s side are still unbeaten all season in the league over 16 matches and have three games in hand on Albion, who have the same number of points (42).

So if they are to breathe new life into their title challenge, Cefn need a win, whereas a victory for the Wellmen will only strengthen their championship hopes.

Earlier in the campaign, Holywell won 5-2 at Albion.

Gwynedd League (2 pm)
Waunfawr v Nefyn United

Not only do Waunfawr have a brilliant home record, they have won their last five games on the bounce.

Nonetheless, the Beganifs are likely to find visitors Nefyn a tough hurdle to overcome on Saturday.

The Penwaig are fourth in the table with just one loss in 13 games – away to emphatic table-toppers Bangor 1876.

However, the Cae’r Delyn side did suffer a confidence knock in their last outing – a 4-3 home defeat to underdogs Llysfaen in the NWCFA Junior Cup.

So they will be aiming to bounce back against in-form Waunfawr, who produced a very impressive 4-1 victory over Llangoed in the Bob Owen Memorial Shield last weekend.

Interesting tussle in prospect.

North East Wales League (2 pm)
Brymbo Victoria v Penyffordd Lions

First hosts third in what should be a cracker.

Penyffordd are just three points behind Brymbo Victoria with a game in hand, so an away win would level things up. Vics have much the better goal difference, though.

It’s been a very frustrating spell for the North East Wales League with the weather causing endless postponements, so there has not been too much action affecting the table.

A meeting between Vics and Lions last September ended 1-1, and it could finish up that close again on Saturday.

Unite the Union Dargie Cup semi-finals (2 pm)
Llanfairpwll v Holyhead Hotspur Res

Cemaes Bay await the winners of this one in the prestigious Dargie Cup Final.

Hotspur are currently second in the Anglesey League standings with Llanfairpwll lying fourth, but 13 points behind although they also have two games in hand.

The teams met on the opening day of the season at Maes Eilian, a league encounter finishing 1-1.

Another tight one expected. Hotspur’s tremendous away form could carry them over the line.

Huws Gray Megan Cup round two (2 pm)
Y Fali v Holyhead Town

The third of three quick clashes involving this pair should prove as enthralling as the first two.

On February 8, a resurgent Holyhead Town triumphed 3-2 at Y Fali in the Benllech Car Boot Trophy.

Two weeks earlier, the close neighbours met in the Anglesey League at Holyhead and this time the score was 3-2 to Y Fali.

The winner on Saturday will advance to the semis of the Megan Cup.
