Holywell Town maintained their unbeaten record in the Welsh National League Premier Division with an impressive 4-2 win at Brymbo.
The Wellmen had lost by the same scoreline at the Steelmen’s ground in the FAW Trophy last month, but the outcome was reversed on Saturday with league points at stake.
The result lifted Johnny Haseldin’s men up to fourth in the table with a record of eight wins and two draws from 10 matches, 39 goals scored and just a miserly six conceded.
Town took a fifth minute lead when Sam Jones delivered a great free kick into the box which evaded everyone and found the bottom corner of the net.
Mark Connolly smashed the crossbar soon after for the visitors, who had made an excellent start to the game.
It was not long before a free kick was headed by Connolly into the path of Danny Dobbins, who made it 2-0.
Holywell remained on top and scored a third goal on 33 minutes. Jake Cooke won the ball and crossed low from the byline, Sam Jones was unable to get his shot away, but Dylan Allshorn was there to fire home.
Brymbo needed an early response in the second half to get into the game and they delivered it on 50 minutes when Charlie Bell netted on his debut.
The hosts were well in contention on the hour when a goalkeeping error allowed Billy New to cut the arrears to 3-2.
Holywell rallied and Connolly struck the upright before in the 70th minute, Cooke burst into the box and applied a fine finish for 4-2.
Cefn Albion moved to within a point of leaders Rhostyllen but having played a game more after whipping Castell Alun Colts 4-0 at The Rock.
It was a 14th straight loss for Castell Alun, who have yet to pick up a point this season.
Danny Holland and Alex Williams scored two goals apiece for the Albion.
