Ardal North West: Hilditch bags winner as Prestatyn go top, NFA make it three straight victories

Tom Hilditch won the day for Prestatyn Town with his fifth goal in 5 games

ARDAL NORTH WEST – TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 8

Prestatyn Town 2 (J Jones 38, Hilditch 60)
CPD Pwllheli 1 (S Roberts 29)

Unbeaten Prestatyn returned to the Ardal North West summit with a close-fought win over Pwllheli at Bastion Gardens on Tuesday night.

The Seasiders are now undefeated in 10 matches across all competitions this season and this latest success made it five wins and a draw in the league.

Overall, Town have not lost in 21 matches going back to February this year.

Pwllheli’s task on Tuesday was made much tougher when their 17-year-old keeper Jac Mawson suffered an injury early in the second half which forced him to leave the field.

With no sub keeper available, defender Steffan Alford has to deputise between the sticks.

Despite being such a key player down, the visitors remained very much in the game right to the end.

Pwllheli, whose own start to the season has been very impressive, took a 29th minute lead when a break led to Ioan Williams releasing Sion Roberts, who fired in the opener.

James Jones equalised on 38 minutes and it stayed 1-1 up to the break.

The winner arrived in the 60th minute when Alex Jones drilled the ball in from the left and Tom Hilditch was there to notch his fifth goal in as many games.

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 5

NFA 1 Connah’s Quay Town 0

After a poor start to the season NFA made it three straight wins on Saturday to edge into sixth spot in Ardal North West.

Harrison Bellis scored for the third match in a tow, his 55th minute finish from a Callum Roberts assist enough to earn the Rhyl side maximum points.
