1. FAW Trophy round three
Llannefydd 2 Nefyn United 3 (aet)

Nefyn of the Gwynedd League celebrated their fourth cup giant-killing of the season with a thrilling victory at Llannefydd in the FAW Trophy.

Saturday’s tussle away to Welsh Alliance Division Two opponents saw the Penwaig triumph with goals from co-managers Carl Jones and Steve Jones, and a headed decider from Llyr Williams.

Nefyn have another upset in their sights when they host Welsh Alliance Division One leaders Denbigh Town in the Trophy this Saturday.

2. FAW Trophy round three
Llanuwchllyn 1 Llanrug United 5

Alan Mark Owen was among Llanrug’s goalscorers

To win 5-1 away in a cup tie against a team from the same level of the pyramid has to rank as a cracking result.

Joni Sadler, Alan Mark Owen, Gavin Lloyd Jones and Kevin Lloyd (2) shared the goals for the Welsh Alliance Division One visitors.

Oli Crimp grabbed a consolation for Welsh National League Premier Division hosts Llanuwchllyn.

3. Welsh Alliance Division One

Llanrwst Utd 5 Holyhead Hotspur 1

Tremendous win for the Rwsters over many people’s title favourites who had lost just once in the league all season.

Callum Parry (3), Sam Parry and Sam Roberts sealed a big home win for the Conwy Valley outfit.

4. Welsh National League Premier Division

Saltney produced probably their finest display of the season as they claimed a surprise 4-3 victory at in-form Mold.

Rabih Jumaa, Ste Chiocchi, Jake Johnson and Paul Johnson scored for the Bordermen, with Conner Kendrick, Lee Jones and Louis Middlehurst replying for the hosts.

5. Welsh National League Division One

Lex XI 2 Halkyn & Flint Mountain 3

What a great fightback from Halkyn and Flint Mountain in defeating a team which recently knocked holders Cefn Albion from a division above out of the FAW Trophy.

Goals from Matt Bennett and Joao DeSilva had the Lawmen cruising, but midway through the second half, the tables turned dramatically as net-finders from Lee Messham, Jimmy McGlone and Sean Williams bagged the visitors the points.

6. Vale of Clwyd and Conwy League President’s Cup round two

Llysfaen 2 Bro Cernyw 1

This scoreline really caused a stir, with Division One Llysfaen manager Emlyn Robert Jones describing it as ‘probably his favourite result’ since becoming boss.

The home side trailed to Osian Roberts’ 13th minute opener, but the Premier Division visitors were pegged back to 1-1 when James Fallas equalised on 69, then Ashley Holden’s unusual 87th minute winner secured the giant-killing.

Holden hit a high looping effort from outside the box which found the net, the Cernyw keeper misjudging the ball completely.

The weird but wonderful goal was caught on camera by the club and has earned more than 5,000 views (and counting) on line.

7. Anglesey League Bwlch Car Boot Trophy round one

Pentraeth Res 3 Mountain Rangers 2

There was a surprise in the Bwlch Car Boot Trophy as Pentraeth Reserves defeated a Mountain Rangers side sitting several places higher in the league 3-2.

Tom Jones, Matt Williams and Jack Halton were on the mark for the hosts, Sam Williams with both for the visitors.
