Gwynedd League

Menai Bridge Tigers trail leaders Trearddur Bay Bulls by just two points following a 6-0 thrashing of Gwynedd League bottom side Llannerchymedd on Saturday.

Despite being depleted numbers-wise, the Bridge still triumphed comfortably thanks to doubles from Kelvin Frazer and Dave Baston, with Callum Davidson and Kev Roberts also on the mark.

Menai have played a game more than table-toppers Trearddur Bay, who have 24 points from nine games. Bridge are on 22 from 10 and Bangor 1876 lie third with the maximum 18 from six starts.

Llangoed edged a 3-2 decision at Glantraeth, Wayne Thomas (2) and Llion Roberts for the visitors, Josh Norman and Morgan Rowlands replying.

Bethesda Athletic and Llanystumdwy shared a thrilling 4-4 split. Kieren Jeffreys, Shaun Morris (2) and Kieran Barnett divided the goals for Pesda, who led 3-1, Darren Parry (2), Elis Bryn and Dafydd Jones salvaging a point for the visitors, who had fought back to be 4-3 up.

Waunfawr outscored Caergybi 5-2, Rhodri Owen (2), Elis Povey, Adam Lloyd and Meurig Parry for the Beganifs, Stephan Driedyk and Aidan Batsford responding.

Jordan Edney’s superb free kick was enough to seal Bro Goronwy a 1-0 victory against visitors Ogwen Tigers, while there were lots more goals in the match between Bontnewydd and Talysarn Celts, home side Bont finishing up 5-4 winners.

Morgan Roberts, Josh Roberts, Mathew Roberts (pen) and Cai Penny Williams (2) provided the hosts tally, Luke Baum (3) and Jac Jones running the Celts close.

Sam Williams (2), Simon Kay (2) and Declyn Williams shared the goals for Alex Philp’s side, who exited the Elias Cup at Cefni a fortnight earlier.

Tudur Williams grabbed the only goal as CPD Y Fali won 1-0 at Llanfairpwll to advance to the next round.

Four goals from Scott Hughes sealed Arriva Bangor a 4-1 victory over Bodorgan, also in the Megan Cup. Connor Rees hit back for the visitors.

In the only action of the weekend in the Lucas Oil Anglesey League, Cemaes Bay whipped Pentraeth Reserves 6-0, Steven Whittaker (2), Dylan Jones (2), Josh Griffiths and Tam Morton sharing the goals.
