NWCFA Junior Cup: Giant-killing prospects galore in last 16

Three of the lowest ranked teams left in the NWCFA Junior Cup have landed plum ties in the last 16.

Vale of Clwyd and Conwy League Division One sides Llysfaen and Llandudno Amateurs Reserves have been drawn away to 2018 trophy winners Nefyn United and home to Trearddur Bay Bulls respectively. Both Nefyn and Bulls are in the Gwynedd League and expected to go far in the competition.

Meanwhile, Arriva Bangor of the Anglesey League will be home to Gwynedd League champions Menai Bridge Tigers in another attractive clash and a genuine local derby.

Abergele v Caergybi could end up a great battle, but perhaps the tie of the round is Llangoed v holders Bro Goronwy.

Bro will be determined not to loosen their grip on the cup, but fellow Gwynedd League outfit Llangoed are in good form this season and cannot be taken in any way lightly.

Bangor 1876 might fancy their chances of victory against Llanystumdwy, who they recently walloped 13-0 in the Bob Owen Memorial Trophy. This game will take place at Treborth on Friday, February 14, 7.30 pm.

Mountain Rangers, high-flyers in the Anglesey League, can expect a big test from Gwynedd League dark horses Talysarn Celts, while Rhos United will welcome fellow Vale of Clwyd and Conwy Premier Division outfit Llansannan.

Full round three draw (ties to be played February 15, 2020, unless stated)
Abergele v Caergybi
Arriva Bangor v Menai Bridge Tigers
Bangor 1876 v Llanystumdwy (Friday, February 14, 7.30 pm)
Llandudno Amt Res v Trearddur Bay Bulls
Llangoed v Bro Goronwy
Mountain Rangers v Talysarn Celts
Nefyn United v Llysfaen
Rhos United v Llansannan
