Mochdre v Bangor

Second hosts first in what must rank as the match of the day in the Premier Division.

Mochdre face the leaders on the back of fantastic and thrilling wins over Llandudno and champions Menai Bridge, while Bangor have been victorious in seven of their eight completed matches to date.

Mochdre skipper Matty Humphreys said: “We look forward to welcoming Bangor to MCC for what will be a very interesting top of the table clash.

“Bangor have some very good players and we will have to produce 100 overs of good cricket to get the desired result. There is a high amount of confidence among the group after two dramatic wins in as many weeks.”

Mochdre line-up: Gareth Goodson, Stewart Williams, Matthew Humphreys (c), Alex Davies, James French (WK), Gareth Davies, Sam Davies, Mike Humphreys, Sean Reilly, Russ Boswell, Kyle Brown.

Bangor will still be missing Owen Reilly as he completes his school commitments. Andy Williams replaces Chris Dawson in an otherwise unchanged side.

Skipper Gareth Edwards said: “Really looking forward to our top of the table clash with Mochdre who must be still over the moon following last week’s thriller at Menai.

“We will be concentrating on our own improvements and testing ourselves against quality opposition. Should be a good one!”

Pwllheli v Menai Bridge

Pwllheli will be looking to build on last weekend’s superb home win over St Asaph when they welcome the title-holders to Parc Bodegroes.

Captain Morgan Murray-Williams, who claimed a match-winning 6-42 against Saints, said: “On the back of a big win against St Asaph, we want to carry that momentum into the match against the champions.

“We just need to put in a positive performance to build on this run of home games we currently have.”

Pwllheli line-up: Morgan Murray-Williams, Lawrence Barraclough (wk), Chris Moore, Craig Edwards, Tristan Coetzee, Adam Williams, Ben Cowper, Jack Metcalfe, Ioan Roberts, Iwan Moore, Kalim Shah.

Bridge skipper Dion Holden is challenging his team to produce a big response to last week’s last-ball loss to Mochdre.

Andrew Skeoch and Liam McCann step down, with Edward Gadsby and Dion Owen coming into the side.

Holden said: “We’re all looking forward to the game. We’re hungry for a big performance and need to bounce back after last week’s loss.”

Northop v St Asaph

Matty Ryan, Rich Aram and Owen Jones return for Saints with Alex Baker and Elliot Morris dropping out.

Asaph skipper Will Ryan said: “We expect a tough game this weekend. Northop are going well and are a good side at home. Like every week if I think we perform to the levels we can we can get a good result.”

Pontblyddyn v Llandudno

Although Pontblyddyn were beaten at Bangor last weekend, Glenn Chambers’ side put in a good batting display against the leaders.

Skipper Chambers is looking for more of the same against a Llandudno outfit experiencing an up-and-down start to the campaign.

“We appreciate that Llandudno are a decent side, however we are really looking forward to the challenge,” said the experienced Chambers.
