Club hopes to continue playing after ban – but needs new management

FC Mountain has another hill to climb.
The Tier 4 North Wales Coast East Premier Division club is currently banned from playing football due to non-payment of a fine.
Mountain chairman Jamie Welsh said he hopes the situation can be remedied next week and in the meantime the search for a new management team is ongoing.
Italian Max Leghissa has left his position as Mountain’s technical sporting director, a role he took up in July.
Paride Muci, also from Italy, became head coach four months ago, but he has also departed due to family commitments back home.
Andrew Ruscoe recently stepped in as temporary manager and the team took four points out of a possible six. However, Ruscoe had made it clear he could only help out on a short-term basis due to his other football commitments.
Mountain are currently 10th in the 14-team Premier Division and hope to be back in action soon, but first comes the issue of appointing new management.

A troubled club that deserves a lucky break
Last season, the club then known as Flint Mountain avoided the drop from the Cymru North, but it later emerged they had plummeted two levels after their request for ‘elective relegation’ from Tier 2 was granted by the FAW.
Ruthin Town, who finished bottom of the Cymru North, subsequently earned a reprieve, while Kerry and Connah’s Quay Town also avoided going down and stayed in Ardal North East and West respectively.
Flint Mountain changed its name to FC Mountain and began 2026-27 in Tier 4.
At times things have been tough this season, but results have been decent and the club has continued to sign some very capable players.
