Three double title-winning Nomads stars depart the club within a week – but the squad remains strong

Two more departures are imminent from Adran North champions Connah’s Quay Nomads following defender Mae Hodgers joining Chester at the weekend.
Evie Chard and Mel Barlow, both members of the 2024-25 and 2025-26 title-winning squads, are set to leave Nomads.
Defender Chard, 24, was first team captain this season and has been with the club for the past three full campaigns, making a total 61 appearances.

Midfielder Barlow, 25, joined the Deesiders in 2023-24 and featured in 48 league and cup matches for the team, netting 11 goals.
Hodgers, 19, started out with Nomads Under-19s in 2023-24, but soon broke into the first team that season. She made 48 appearances for the senior side.
Like Chard and Barlow, she was a part of the 2024-25 and 2025-26 championship-winning sides.
She has now committed to North West Regional League Division One South leaders Chester, where three other former Nomads, Polly Wild-McGregor, Elana Harley and Alisha Whitehead-Hughes now also play their football.
Despite this week’s departures, Nomads still have a strong squad boosted by the availability of a very promising under-19 side. who are currently top of the North East Wales League.
Nomads also have the option of signing talented players from the English pyramid, but no definite moves have been confirmed as yet.
