Nomads sign record Ardal North goalscorer

Connah’s Quay Nomads have signed the Genero Adran North League all-time record goalscorer.

Striker Rosie Hughes has joined the Tier 2 champions for the 2026-27 season.

Hughes’ 60 goals accumulated in two Adran North seasons with Wrexham make her still the highest markswoman in the league’s history.

Best known for her five seasons at Wrexham, Hughes is the club’s all-time leading net-finder with 136 goals in 115 appearances.

She signed for Wrexham in August 2021 after previously serving North Wales teams Kinmel Bay, Denbigh Town and Llandudno.

Hughes was an unstoppable Tier 2 markswoman in 2021-22 and 2022-23, netting 36 and 24 in the league across those seasons.

In her first Adran Premier season, she was first phase top-scorer with 13 goals and netted 15 in 18 league outings overall in 2023-24

Hughes was less of a prominent figure in 2024-25, as Abbie Iddenden and Ava Suckley took on the first-choice striker roles.

Returned to some of her best goal-getting form last season, netting nine times in 12 phase one fixtures as Wrexham went on to win the Adran Premier and Adran Trophy for the first time in their history.

Hughes was released by Wrexham at the end of 2025-26 after becoming the first player to reach 100 appearances for the club.
