Australian ace believed to have broken North Wales Cricket League’s highest individual score record

Harrison Hudson is a North Wales Cricket League all-time record breaker

Conwy’s Australian run machine Harrison Hudson is believed to have broken the North Wales Cricket League’s individual scoring record after amassing 254 not out this weekend.

It is widely accepted that Johannes Van Aswagen’s 248 for Mold against Pwllheli in 2014 was the league’s previous highest, until Hudson’s mammoth effort guided Conwy to a thumping win over Bangor 2nd XI on Saturday.

Hudson’s unbeaten 254 came off 154 balls, including 33 fours and 10 sixes, for a strike rate of 166.01.

It was Hudson’s career-best score and pushes him to a remarkable 983 league runs from 11 innings in the NWCL so far this season.

He has so far recorded three centuries and five fifties this term as Conwy aims to launch a title bid in Division One.

While Hudson’s total is believed to be a new record for the NWCL, Conwy’s 423-3 declared on Saturday definitely is not – only a week earlier Brymbo amassed 430-3 versus Hawarden Park.

Twelve years ago, Van Aswagen’s innings of 248 included 25 fours and 12 sixes from 156 balls, achieving a strike rate of 158.97.

Back home, Hudson plays for Lisarow Ourimbah Cricket Club in New South Wales, where news of his wonder knock will no doubt be enthusiastically received.
