A North Wales Cricket League all-time record is believed to have been broken after Harrison Hudson hit a mammoth 254 not out for Conwy on Saturday.
The Australian opener’s monster effort beat what is thought to be the previous highest score of 248 made by Johannes Van Aswagen for Mold against Pwllheli in 2014.
Hudson is now just 17 runs short of 1,000 league runs for the season after a mere 11 innings – phenomenal. Saturday’s showpiece was the Aussie’s third ton of 2026 and he has also concocted five 50s.
Deciding to bat first, Conwy piled up 423-3 declared off 45 overs, Hudson’s 254 coming off 153 balls and including 33 fours plus 10 sixes.

Put into bat, Pontblyddyn were all out for 201, benefiting from a last-wicket stand of 56.
Vishwa Manawaduge top-scored with 44, while number 11 Rhys Jones hit a third-best career knock of 38 from 26 balls, striking four fours and two sixes.
For the home side, Fabio Franco picked up 3-31 and Louis Parry 2-27.
In response, Bucks were in deep trouble at 89-6, but then an unbroken stand of 112 between Harry Sprowell (82 not out) and Fabio Franco (47 no) carried them to 201-6 when the final ball was bowled. Ben Mason was Pont’s leading bowler with 2-24.
Buckley needed 30 to win off the final two overs and so nearly got home. The hosts required three off the last ball, but hero Sprowell could only manage 2. Result: a tie.

Invited to bat, Mochdre were all out for 200 off 45 overs, James Gilman 47 and Chris Barry 34, Quay’s Hashmat Safi bagging 4-35 and Jack Griffiths 2-44.

Tom Opie snaffled 2-41 for the visitors.
