Nick Flack starred with bat and ball for a Chirk side which produced a winning total after looking like they would struggle early in their innings.
All-rounder Flack struck 11 fours in his effort of 70 which helped the hosts set 221-9 off 45 overs after they won the toss and opted to bat.
Initially, the Colliers struggled as they fell to 9-2 and 40-3, but with Flack behind the steering wheel other batsmen fared better against the Ellesmere attack.
Returning skipper Liam Walker made 28, Andrew Swarbrick 26 and Luke Gardner 26 not out, Tekmar Ali claiming 3-28 for the visitors.
In reply, Ellesmere gave it a right good go, but finished up 15 short of victory on 207 all out.
Things looked good for the away side when they rose from 22-2 to 153-2, but then century hero Matthew Campbell was bowled by Swarbrick for 102.
Nonetheless, Ellesmere remained well on course at 193-4 before they lost their last six wickets for just 14 runs.
Flack finished up with 4-14 off 4.2, while new-ball bowler Swarbrick notched 4-42 off nine.
A great game of cricket and a memorable win for Chirk.
