James Hurlin claimed a stunning career-best 8-48 and played a vital role with the bat in Northop Hall’s impressive victory at Croxteth Drive.
Slow bowler Hurlin also passed 450 league wickets for Hall’s first XI in a tremendous show at the Liverpool venue.
Put into bat, Sefton Park were dismissed for 122 from 51 overs, Hurlin’s eight-for coming off 20, while spin king Paul Jenkins bagged 2-51 from 26.
Reaching the winning post was far from a breeze for the Flintshire visitors as in reply they collapsed to 46-5 before Christian Jardine and that man Hurlin steadied the ship.
The pair put on 62 for the sixth wicket, Jardine making 55 and Hurlin 48 not out as the Hall reached 126-6 in 33.5 to clinch a 20-4 points verdict.
Tom Clarke and Jack Parry both took five wickets and returned almost identical figures as Colwyn Bay swept to an emphatic victory at Dower House Farm.
Hosts Spring View won the toss and decided to bat, producing what must rank as one of the most unusual-looking scorecards of the season.
Max Bittler totally dominated the innings with 70 off 65 balls, recording 10 fours and two sixes, but no-one else could manage double figures as the Wigan area side were bowled out for 93.
Clarke pocketed 5-45 off 10.1 overs and Parry picked up 5-46 from 10.
Second-in-the-table Bay had no problem reaching 97-2 off 16.3, Zack Gidlow (59) and Dan Russell (38 not out) forming an opening stand of 93. Two quick wickets went down, but the visitors were unperturbed.
Close but not quite for Prestatyn in a good contest at City Road.
Invited to bat, hosts Norley Hall piled up a decent score of 227-5 declared off 52.4 overs, Shah Afridi 84 and skipper Matthew Hayes 58 not out, Ryan Westwell 2-53 for the visitors, who were without chief strike bowler Kieran New.
In reply, Prestatyn were in deep trouble at 19-3, but Andy Taylor (57) and Benjamin Hughes (39) recovered the situation by putting on 85 for the fourth wicket.
When the Welsh side found themselves 175-8, it looked dicey, yet the tail wagged and the away side were as near as 219 when the last wicket fell, Nauman Ahmad looking like leading his team home before he was ninth to go for 55 off 50 balls – six fours and three sixes.
Tom Roberts recorded his second century of the season as Colwyn Bay seconds grabbed the victory which lifted them off the basement.
Bay concocted a good score of 215-4 declared off 42.3 overs, opener Roberts ending on 103 not out, sharing in a first-wicket stand of 71 with Zane Roy (28).
Will Spillane (38 not out) and Jaiveer Tomar (35) also batted well for the hosts.
Returning heroes Shay Williams and Jamie Moorhouse then scooped 3-25 and 3-30 respectively as Bay sent Rainford packing for 152, James Jones 2-26.
A six-wicket success keeps Northop Hall seconds in command at the division summit.
Four players claimed two victims apiece as visitors Hightown were bowled out for 133, Ben Hicks 2-3, Aiden Jones 2-11, Oliver Jenkins 2-28 and Liam Evans-Ford 2-40.
Hall hit back with 134-4, openers Michael Williamson (40) and Owen Skillander (33) putting on 76.
Ashley Jones (3-47) and Sulaiman Ahmad (2-17 off 11) led the charge as Prestatyn seconds removed visitors Caldy for 147 and then replied with a winning 148-5, Richard A Williams the star man with 75, Zachary Spargo 31 not out putting on a match-clinching 82.
