North Wales Premier: Brymbo score 400+, wins for St Asaph and Menai Bridge, Gwersyllt and Mochdre triumph

Brymbo 1st XI (18) 430-3 Hawarden Park 1st XI (1) 109-10

They were consulting the record books at Brymbo after the home side amassed a mammoth 400+ total against the bottom side.
Winning the toss and electing to bat, the Steelmen piled up humungous 430-3 off their 50 overs, openers Sam Aplin and Chris Taylor both making centuries.
The pair put on 165, Aplin chalking up a career-best 149 off 133 balls which included 24 fours, while Taylor smashed nine boundaries and five sixes in his 78-ball 106.
When Taylor finally departed, there was only further agony ahead for Hawarden as Aplin and Dikshant Vairagi formed a 195 partnership for the second wicket.
Aplin was dismissed with the total at 360, then Vairagi went four runs later for a 68-ball 95 which involved 14 fours.
Skipper Jason Underwood (58 not out – seven sixes) then added an unbroken 66 with George Deniz for the fourth wicket before the onslaught was brought to a close.
Park were then sent packing for just 109 in a mere 19,5 overs, Jacob Duker notching a spirited 43.
Vairagi took a fine 5-21 off six overs, Jack Williams 2-24.
All sorts of league records could well have been broken. Brymbo’s winning margin was 321 runs.

Denbigh 1st XI (7) 171-10 St Asaph 1st XI (18) 261-10

After a disastrous start to their innings table-toppers St Asaph recovered well enough to set a winning score at Ystrad Road.
Choosing to bat, the Saints nosedived to 24-4 after a devastating early four-wicket spell from Sam Lewis.
However, Mathew Ryan and Will Norman stopped the rout with a stand of 120 for the fifth wicket.
Ryan hit eight fours and a six in his 66 before being fifth to depart, while Will Norman made 60, notching up nine bounaries and a maximum prior to losing his wicket to leave Asaph 162-6.
Joe Norman then took over, hittint four sixes in his 57 as the visitors progressed to 261 all out.
For the home side, Sam Lewis pouched 6-60 off 10, Ieuan Jones claiming 3-53.
Denbigh were dismissed for 171 in response, Archie Sussex 57 and opener Ranija Abeysinghe 32.
Dan Evans was the star bowler for the away side, grabbing 5-33 and Joe Norman 2-33.
And the Saints go marching on…….

Gwersyllt Park 1st XI (18) 137-10 Bangor 1st XI (6) 127-10

Francois Mostert took 5-30

In a low-scoring encounter Gwersyllt celebrated a narrow 10-run success at the expense of the champions.
Opting for first knock, Park were all back in the pavilion for a modest 137, number nine Cai Pearson scoring what proved to be a vital 32.
Francois Mostert gathered an impressive 5-30 for the visitors, Nadeem Rehman 2-14 and Smit Parekh 2-27.
Despite facing a very getable target, Bangor were bowled out for just 127, having been in all sorts of trouble at 57-7 before late runs from Soahib Khan (28) and Daniel Flynn (21) gave them hope.
However, it was not to be for the Citizens as they ended up 10 runs shy of their opponents’ effort, Iroshan De Silva 4-23 off 10, Neil Pearson 3-19 from 10 and Jack Billington 2-38.

Mochdre 1st XI (18) 312-6 Northop 1st XI (8) 287-10

Will Evans made his 13th century for Mochdre’s first team and the 31st of his run-packed career in a home win at Blackmarsh Road.
Left-hand run machine Evams, with more than 18,000 runs on his record, posted 108 as the hosts set a challenging 312-6 off 50 overs.
Skipper Adam Campion added 55, Josh McIntyre 34 and James French 30 not out, while Thomas Hughes collected a more than respectable 4-48 for Northop.
In reply, the Flintshire visitors scored plenty but ended up 25 runs behind their hosts on 287 all out.
Sion Morris top-scored with 83, hitting 12 fours, Richard Walker adding 55 and Bart Ryan-Beswick 46 off 21 balls – four sixes and three fours – but it was another defeat for the men from Flint Road.
Campion snapped up 4-42 for the home side, Owen Davies 3-35 and French 2-46 – points 18-8 to Mochdre.

Mold 1st XI (7) 163-10 Menai Bridge 1st XI (18) 255-10

Dion Holden

Dion Holden made it back-to-back league tons for high-flyers Menai Bridge in their latest triumph at Chester Road.
Calling the coin correcly and deciding to bat, the islanders were all out in the last of 50 overs for a score of 255.
Holden is now just a smidgen short of 500 league runs for the season after his 107 which featured 14 fours.
The former Wales Minor Counties all-rounder’s ton was by far and away the team’s best knock, Jack Gower next highest on 34, while skipper Robbie Jones made 31.
For the home side, Thomas North scooped 3-39, Henry Roberts 2-19 and Munowar Samsodien 2-43.
Matthew Jones picked up 5-34, Patrick Glover 3-33 and Liam Bibby 2-53 as Mold’s response ended on 163, North (58) and skipper Ewan Hill (37) putting on 107 for the first wicket before all went wrong.
