St Asaph 1st XI (18) 394-6 Mold 1st XI (6) 193-10

Kyle Williams in action for St Asaph

A humongous opening stand of 284 between century-making heroes Kyle Williams and Mathew Ryan laid the foundations for St Asaph to blast the Premier’s highest total of the season so far at Elwy Park Grove.
Williams, who has already smashed a career-best 192 this season, made 153 in his latest epic, while Ryan made his second-highest club score of 120, nine years after he produced his biggest ever 143 v Llanrwst.
On a day always destined to favour batting, Saints surely could not believe their luck when the opposition put them in!
Wicket-keeper Williams’ 153 came off 115 balls, including 16 fours and eight sixes, while Ryan’s 120 involved 19 boundaries.
Williams was first out on 284, and skipper William Ryan added 43 before the onslaught ended on 394-6 off 50 overs.
Mold paceman Munowar Samsodien showed his class by only going for four an over when the rest of the attack were suffering, claiming 3-40 off 10, while Hayden Millington grabbed 2-46.
In reply, the visitors were dismissed for 193, Louis Boulton 64 and Thomas Garratt 35, while on what had already been a remarkable day, Asaph’s Ankush Upadhyaya pocketed 7-59, Robbie Prior 2-35.

Bangor 1st XI (7) 256-6 Northop 1st XI (18) 257-5

Overseas signing Ikjot Singh Thind made his first major score for Northop of 87 which helped the visitors to a five-wicket triumph at Ty Newydd.
Bangor called the coin correctly and chose to bat, chalking up a competitive 256-6 off their 50 overs.
Nadeem Rehman (48) and Cian Williams put on 86 for the first wicket before the latter departed for 27.
Francois Mostert came good batting at four, making 77 not out off 76 balls, sharing in an unbroken partnership for the seventh wicket of 70 with Sohaib Khan (30 no).
Bart Ryan-Beswick took 3-43 for the visiting side.
Opener Elliot Colclough made 33 before Northop slumped to 71-3, but then the middle order flourished with Richard Walker making 48 before Thind and Matthew Williams put together a decisive stand of 81 for the fifth wicket.
Indian Thind, who has captained Punjab in his home country, hit 87 including 10 fours, while Williams ended on 50 not out off 39 balls – seven fours and two sixes – as the Flintshire men comfortably reached 257-5 off 44.
Bangor’s attack took some heavy punishment, Mostert the best of the figures with 2-53.
This was a fourth defeat in five games for the reigning champions.

Hawarden Park 1st XI (7) 188-8 Denbigh 1st XI (18) 223-8

Skipper Harrison Jones scored a crucial half-century in second-place Denbigh’s return to winning ways at Moor Lane.
Opting to bat, the visitors dipped to 79-4 before Harrison Jones (60) and Ieuan Jones (47) formed a partnership of 100 for the fifth wicket.
Harrison Jones notched eight fours and two sixes in his knock, while Ieuan Jones contributed six boundaries. Opener Gerallt Lyall earlier made 30.
Ian Martin gathered an exquisite 3-19 off 10 overs for the hosts, Mike Wootton 3-44.
Hawarden’s response started well enough, openers Campbell Marr and Jacob Duker combining to make 66 before the former went for 17.
Duker progressed to 66 but the remainder of the batting was ordinary, Ian Martin a solid 28 not out, before Park’s effort ended on 188-8.
Best batsman Harrison Jones was also top bowler for the away side with 2-32, Joe Lewis pocketing 2-39. Points: 18-7 to Denbigh.

Mochdre 1st XI (9) 222-10 Brymbo 1st XI (18) 253-10

The battle of the big total specialists did not disappoint, but Brymbo ended up with the upper hand at Blackmarsh Road.
Electing to bat, the Steelmen were all out for 253. Captain Jason Underwood continued his great form, including a Welsh Cup century last weekend, hitting 78.
This time, the Springbok cracked seven fours and four sixes in his 84-ball innings, sharing in a sixth-wicket stand of 91 with George Deniz (41).
Opener Chris Taylor added to the Brymbo riches with 58, while for Mochdre, Adam Campion and Matty Humphreys both snapped up 4-47.
In reply, Mochdre looked well set on 139-3, but some vital losses around that stage left them struggling and they were eventually all out for 222.
Opener Will Evans made a typically defiant 93, including 13 fours, Alex Davies adding 41, but it was not enough, James Claybrook 3-33, Daniel Parry 3-40 and Dikshant Vairagi 2-34 for the travellers.
