LOCK STOCK ARDAL NORTH WEST LEAGUE – REPORTS, MARCH 14

Llanrwst United 0 CPD Dinas Bangor City 1876 2

Declan McManus made it 11 goals in nine games for a Bangor side which maintained an eight-point lead at the Ardal North West summit.
The flying Scotsman scored twice for the visitors in a hard-fought battle at Llanrwst.
A former two-time Cymru Premier Golden Boot winner with The New Saints, McManus has made quite an impact since arriving at Bangor City Stadium in January.
He struck the crossbar from close range in the 17th minute before breaking the deadlock on 36 with a great finish following a Tommy Creamer assist.
On the hour, Llanrwst’s hopes of a comeback suffered a blow when defender Chris Nicolson received a red card.
Despite continued pressure, the Citizens could not finish off the contest until the 90th minute when McManus netted from the penalty spot.

Penmaenmawr Phoenix 2 Llangefni Town 2

Phoenix fought back from 2-0 down to pick up a vital point in their battle against relegation at Cae Sling.
Visitors Llangefni took a 29th minute lead when a bobbling ball somehow found its way to Ashley Ainsworth, who bundled home.
Cefni quickly doubled up their advantage in the 36th minute when Aron Hughes-Jones found the top corner from the edge of the box.
Right on half time, Pen halved the arrears when a pinpoint cross from Toby Jones was headed home by Jay Sutton.
Six minutes into the second half, it was 2-2. Jones floated in another exquisite delivery, this time from a free kick, and Harley Crossfield’s looping header found the net.
Pen now pressed for the winner.
Toby Jones rattled the woodwork from a brilliant free kick, Leigh Craven flashed a strike past goal and Dan Evans could not quite reach out a leg as Dan McIlvogue passed the ball across the 6 yard box.
Pen faced a late scare when Llangefni hit the woodwork themselves, however both teams had to settle for a point.

Bethesda Athletic 0 Prestatyn Town 1

Sam Henry’s 18th minute goal from a Robbie Parry assist was enough to earn Prestatyn three points which lifted them into third and strengthened their unbeaten record in the league to six matches.

Mynydd Isa 1 CPD Y Felinheli 2

Three massive points for Felinheli in their quest to pull away from the lower reaches of Ardal North West.
Shaun Tinsley gave Mynydd Isa a 31st minute lead, but in the second half captain Aled Griffith levelled on 49 before club record scorer Gruff John bagged an 84th minute decider.

NFA 1 Connah’s Quay Town 1

Lewis Evans’ 77th minute equaliser rescued a point for NFA, who have now gone four matches without a win.
Town had taken a 59th minute lead through Ross Sinclair.

Porthmadog 6 St Asaph City 0

Six-goal Port established a 13-point gap between themselves in second spot and the third-placed club in the ANW.
Osian Evans was a hat-trick star for the second time in three games for the home side, bringing his total to eight goals in his last four matches.
Shaun Cavanagh, Jonny Bravo and sub Zac Pike were also on target for Chris Jones’ men.

CPD Pwllheli 2 Llay Welfare 2

There was a dramatic ending at The Rec, where Hari Lambe looked to have won it for Pwllheli with a 91st minute goal to make it 2-1, only for Lewis Fearns to reply for Llay soon after to ensure it ended all-square.
After a goalless first half, Deio Williams put Pwll ahead on 49 minutes, but Fearns levelled after 58.

Trearddur Bay 3 CPD Llannefydd 4

Llannefydd edged a seven-goal corker to make it five games unbeaten in the league.
Gwion Owen’s 41st minute net-finder handed the visitors a half time lead, then early in the second period two goals in as many minutes from Mathew Jones and Llion Morris made it 3-0.
Sean McCaffery pulled one back for Bay on 59, but when Tomos Salisbury struck again for Llan after 70, it looked like an away victory was a near certainty with the score now 4-1.
However, replies from Hari Jones and Sebastian Samuel made it 4-3 and set up a fascinating last 10 minutes, which ended up producing no further goals.
