Transfer Trail 2026: Four more new signings

Owen Edwards (orange) puts in a strong challenge for Broughton

Owen Edwards (Penyffordd Lions to Broughton United)

Having joined Broughton in December, Owen came on as a late sub against Greenfield in a 3-1 win

Edwards is a strong, tall, ball-winning centre half who is a threat in both boxes. He has plenty of experience in the North East Wales set-up, playing In Tier 5, 4 & 3 for Sychdyn, Connah’s Quay Town, Caerwys and, most recently, Penyffordd Lions.

Owen joined CQ Town from Sychdyn for the 2022/23 season, helping them to a second-place finish in the North East Wales Premier Division and a Premier Cup triumph.

After a brief spell with Caerwys the season after, he rejoined CQ Town and once again assisted them to Premier runners-up and promotion to Tier 3.

The 27-year-old started and netted for Town in their first ever game of Tier 3 football, a 4-3 Ardal North West win over the side that had just come up with them, Corwen.

Edwards then made the switch to Penyffordd halfway through the season and spent 2025 with the Lions.

Owen joins the Saints as they sit top of the North East Wales League Division 1 table, with a semi-final still to look forward to, and will be hoping to replicate past seasons and seal both promotion and silverware to go with it.

Owain Jones-Owen (CPD Pwllheli to Blaenau Ffestiniog Amateurs)

Back with Blaenau for a third time after a spell with Tier 3 club CPD Pwllheli.

Jones-Owen featured in eight first-team games for the Rec side, scoring once, and also turned out for the Development team.

The 23-year-old’s association with Blaenau dates back to 2019-20, playing in 21 matches and scoring once before signing for Barmouth and Dyffryn at the start of 2022-23.

After five appearances for Bermo, he rejoined Blaenau in January 2023, this time staying at Cae Clyd until the end of 2024.25, playing in 43 games and bagging 15 goals.

Last season, he was part of the Quarrymen squad which won the North Wales Coast West Division One title and NWCFA Junior Challenge Cup.

He is now back with the Amateurs for a third stint and the management is confident he can contribute vital goals in 2026.

Freddie Banning (to Conwy Borough Swifts)

Nineteen-year-old prospect who emerged through the junior systems at Llandudno Swifts and Llandudno FC before making his senior debut for the Seasiders at the end of 2022-23.

Gained first team experience for Llandudno in the Cymru North during 2023-24, also making his mark with the Reserves, pocketing a few goals towards the end of the campaign.

Signed for Llandudno Swifts in 2024-25, scoring 17 goals in 20 outings for the North Wales Coast East Division One side before it folded and merged with Conwy Borough.

Charlie Tokarczyk (to Broughton United)

Charlie Tokarczyk (orange) takes on Greenfield

This 21-year-old has already featured twice for Broughton United Reserves, registering an assist in both games.

Tokarczyk joined the club as a bit of an unknown, but after showcasing his ability in training, it was clear to see what a talented player he is.

Having played for Brickfield Rangers during his youth, he progressed to Brickie’s Reserve and Under 19 sides that have always been battling at the top end of the table.

After not playing for the majority of the 2024/25 season, Charlie has decided on a fresh start with Broughton and is making an encouraging impact.

He is a very exciting attacking player, comfortable in both the midfield or forward line. Constantly on the move, demanding the ball and driving the team forward – he really is a nightmare for the opposition to handle.

Charlie has already proven to be a fantastic addition and will be an important player to the team moving forward.
