Penblwydd hapus Mared Roberts!

Llangefni Town defender Mared Roberts celebrates her 24th birthday today.
Born on September 16, 2001, Mared has been a familiar name in the Cefni side for the past four seasons.
After making her debut at Northop Hall in December 2021, she began to appear regularly in the 2022-23 campaign.
Mared has up to last weekend featured in 73 games for Llangefni Town, playing a key role in the Ynys Môn team’s steady rise to prominence in North Wales football.
Highlights of Mared’s time at Cefni include being part of the side which won the Betty Pickering Cup in 2023-24, beating double league champions Pwllheli 5-1 in the final at Brymbo.

At the end of that season Mared won no less than THREE awards at the club’s annual presentation night – Players’ Player, Most Improved and Supporters’ Player.
Always guaranteed to give 100 percent, Mared’s defensive qualities have also proved important in Town finishing runners-up in the North East Wales League West Division in the past two seasons.

One of Mared’s proudest achievements was making the Ynys Môn women’s squad for the 2025 International Island Games in Orkney.
She came on as a substitute in matches against Western Isles and Hitra, the second of which saw the Môn ladies run out 6-1 einners. Anglesey’s women finished fifth overall and were worthy of better.

For the past couple of seasons, Mared has been a vital fixture in a Llangefni defence alongside the likes of Marissa George, Beth Jones and Catrin Roberts, with Mia Gleave and Katie Spruce as the main goalkeepers.
It is a defensive unit which has served Cefni well and Mared remains a crucial member in the current season, where Town have already performed impressively against Tier 2 sides in the Adran Trophy.
A very popular player in the Llangefni Town squad, Mared Roberts typifies the indomitable team spirit and togetherness that exists at the Ynys Môn club. Penblwydd hapus.
