Ynys Môn men’s squad wanted their team-mate Liam Morris to know how proud they all were of his goalscoring milestone reached at the 2025 Island Games.
Morris, of CPD Dinas Bangor City 1876, became Anglesey’s all-time highest scorer at the Games when he notched his 10th goal in Thursday’s 1-0 semi-final victory over Isle of Man.
On Friday, the day of the final against Bermuda, management and players presented a plaque to Liam celebrating his achievement, as well as an Ynys Môn shirt signed by all the squad.
Morris could be much further ahead at the top of the goalscorers’ table had he enjoyed more luck in Orkney.
In the semi-final, he struck the bar twice as well as scoring from the penalty spot, and was denied by a goal-line clearance in the final when Ynys Môn were 2-1 down to tournament winners Bermuda.
Morris, 26, played for Llanfairpwll, Gaerwen, Llangefni Town, Conwy Borough and Holyhead Hotspur before joining Bangor 1876 in 2022-23.
He first made his mark for Ynys Môn at the 2019 Inter-Games, netting in wins over Western Isles and Jersey before scoring an equaliser in the final against Guernsey – a phenomenal volley on the run.
In Guernsey two years ago, Morris struck four times in three group games, Shetland Islands, Falkland Islands and Isle of Man the opposition.
And he was Môn top-scorer at the 2025 Games with three goals.
