St Asaph’s Matty Ryan carried his bat for a superb century in Wales NC North’s match at Shifnal on Tuesday.
Ryan finished 104 not out as the North were bowled out for 188 in response to the RAF’s mighty effort of 287-7 off 50 overs.
Thomas Shorthouse (82) and Adam Sutcliffe (81) were the mainstays of the innings after the RAF were put into bat.
Bangor’s Jamie Grimshaw took 2-49 and Matt Russell of Colwyn Bay 2-56 for the Welsh side.
Ryan’s 104 came off 124 balls and included nine fours and a six, but no other batsman was able to reach 20.
It was pleasing to see young Pwllheli wicket-keeper Hari Glyn Williams earn selection for the team.
RAF won by 99 runs.
Wales NC North enjoyed a 26-run victory over Staffs at Stone CC on Sunday.
The visitors won the toss and elected to bat, posting 242-6 off 46 overs, Harrison Jones leading the way with 87, sharing in an opening stand of 70 with Matty Ryan (28).
Nathaniel Scott of Bangor made 41 and skipper William Ryan added 38.
With rain affecting proceedings, Staffs were given a revised target of 217 off 39 overs.
However, Denbigh’s Jones also starred with the ball, taking 3-35 as the hosts were limited to 191-8.
Jason Foulkes and Dan Evans both scooped 2-24 for North, who won the game by 25 runs.
