Louis Lloyd did something for Caernarfon Town on Saturday which had not been achieved at the club in some time

Louis Lloyd became the first Caernarfon Town player to score four goals in a match for seven seasons this weekend.

The feat had not previously been achieved since Jamie Breese did it twice in 2017-18, the season which saw the Canaries win the Cymru Alliance title and secure promotion back to the Welsh Premier.

Breese registered quartets in a 7-0 victory over Queen’s Park and 6-0 drubbing of Mold Alexandra.

Lloyd, 21, has already made history this season by becoming the first Caernarfon player to win the Cymru Premier Golden Boot, his 16 goals earning him the award jointly with James Crole of Penybont.

Saturday’s four-goal haul boosted Lloyd’s tally this term to 20. He has netted 30 goals in 74 competitive appearances since joining the Cofis at the start of 2023-24.

Hailing from Llandudno, Lloyd spent his youth football years with his hometown club, Wrexham and Connah’s Quay Nomads before joining Shrewsbury Town in 2020.

Lloyd was first called up to a Shrewsbury matchday squad on 19 September 2020, remaining unused in a 2-1 home loss to Northampton Town in EFL League One.

He made his debut on 10 November in a 4-3 win at Crewe Alexandra in the EFL Trophy group stage, as a last-minute substitute for hat-trick scorer Shilow Tracey.

On 30 November 2022, Lloyd returned to Wrexham following a successful trial. He was released by the Dragons at the end of the 2022-23 season.

In June 2023, Lloyd signed for Caernarfon Town, where his career has ignited, especially in the closing stages of the 2024-25 campaign.
