Back to the top for mighty Colwyn Bay as they pursue a second Cymru North title in three seasons.
Temporarily displaced on Friday evening after Airbus’ win at Prestatyn, the Seagulls flew back to the summit as they made it 22 league games undefeated and 60 points out of a possible last 66 with victory over Guilsfield.
First half goals from Dan Atkins, Sol Forde and Craig Lindfield put Bay 3-0 up at half-time, and although Guilsfield pulled two back late in the second half, Mike Wilde’s men took the three points to go back above Airbus – albeit having played a game more.
They made a great start with a goal after just two minutes. Guilsfield keeper Luke Edwards got a hand to Lindfield’s header from a Joe Williams cross but couldn’t prevent Atkins forcing the ball over the line from close range.
Forde made it 2-0 on 17 minutes when he got on the end of Jay Owen’s header from a Sam Hart corner and Lindfield got the third before the half hour.
Jamie Cumming was unlucky not to make it four when his first time shot from the edge of the area hit the bar.
Bay couldn’t add to their lead in a disappointing second half and Guilsfield got a goal back on 75 minutes with a neat finish by Jamie Hyne and Joe Hancock notched a second deep into added time following a long throw into the Bay area.
Mark Cadwallader made it nine goals in five games and two hat-tricks in his last three outings as Llandudno continued their dynamic form with an away thrashing of Caersws.
Michael Davies and Kieran Baker were also on the mark for the fifth-place Seasiders, Ashley Jones with a consolation for the Bluebirds.
The Wellmen bounced back from the previous weekend’s disappointing 3-0 loss at Gresford by seeing off a strong Buckley outfit at Bartons North Wales Stadium.
Having gone down to the Bucks by the same score back in August, Saturday’s result was sweet revenge for Johnny Haseldin’s league champions.
Ilan Ap Gareth put the hosts ahead in the eighth minute from a Brady McGilloway assist.
Nick Grogan was shown a straight red in the 41st minute, leaving Buckley down to 10 men. Away team coach Chris Roberts received the same punishment.
On 87 minutes, Aled Bellis also received his marching orders for the visitors after a second yellow.
Jamie Breese seaied the points against the nine men with an 89th minute penalty – his 21st goal of the season.
All-square in the Vale of Clwyd derby.
Llyr Morris handed the hosts a first minute lead, Harry Martin with the assist, but Ruthin were reduced to 10 men on 37 when Matty Williams received a straight red card for a high tackle on Nathan Brown.
Substitute Owen Davies headed in the equaliser for Denbigh in the 73rd minute from a Danny Clarke cross.
Despite applying all the late pressure, Denbigh could not find the decider, Ruthin defending valiantly to take a point.
After losing twice at Mold previously this season revenge was welcome for Mountain as a Jack Parry double helped them to victory at the Essity Stadium.
The deadlock was broken in the 32nd minute when Ryan Kershaw lofted a free kick into the box and Andy Brown headed home.
Things swung considerably in Mountain’s favour in the 45th minute when Mold substitute Dafydd Griffith was red-carded for handball on the line.
Parry put away the penalty to hand the hosts a commanding advantage at the break.
Flint needed a third for extra security and it came in the 75th minute when 19-year-old Parry notched his 11th league goal of the campaign.
Jack Sconce was brought down, but advantage was played, substitute Kieran Ball played the ball into space and Parry curled into the corner for 3-0.
A third league win on the bounce for Gresford lifted them up to eighth place in the Cymru North.
Athletic got off to a flyer when in just the second minute Charley Edge fired the home side in front.
Charlie Mann was denied by a fine save from Carl Jones before the lead was doubled in the 18th minute.
This time Mann would not be foiled as his superb volley flew into the net.
George Peers struck at the double for Airbus, who returned to the Cymru North summit on Friday night.
Peers struck first on 19 minutes with a side-footed finish from just inside the penalty area after a loose ball landed at his feet following a fine Robbie Williams save.
Town produced a couple of chances of their own, but at the interval it remained 1-0.
Early in the second half, a glancing header from Peers hit the post, but the Wingmakers did manage to add a second goal on 65 minutes.
A wonderful ball forward by Nathan Williams split the home defence for Peers to get his second of the game.
