Colwyn Bay win right to remain in Cymru North at the second attempt

Colwyn Bay take on Rhyl (white) last season

Colwyn Bay have won their appeal for the right to compete in Cymru North for the 2020/2021 season.

The Seagulls’ initial application for FAW Tier 2 Certification – mandatory to participate at that level – was rejected.

Bay, Caerau Ely, Llanelli Town and STM Sports were refused Tier 2 Certification by the independent Tier 2 First Instance Body on 7 May and submitted their appeals in accordance with FAW Tier 2 Compliance Regulations.

Following the conclusion of the Appeals Body meeting, the following clubs were awarded Tier 2 Certification for 2020/2021: Colwyn Bay, Caerau Ely
and Llanelli Town.

STM Sports were refused.

Colwyn Bay finished fourth in Cymru North this season. It was their first season back in Welsh football after a 35-year absence where they played in the English pyramid.
