Earlier in the season, we chose 15 players to watch in North Wales senior women’s football during 2024-25.

Let’s check on our selections…..this is our first review of 2025 and it’s been a frustrating time with so many games called off over recent weeks.

1 Taylia Chaloner (Flint Town United)

Super-fit defender who has been on the field for every minute of Flint’s first 13 matches this season.
Tayls closing in on 50 first team appearances, currently on 46. Has adapted to tier 2 football like a duck to water.

2 Rosie O’Brien (CPD Y Rhyl 1879)

Rhyl’s form has improved a lot of late and Rosie has been one of the star players, scoring twice in Sunday’s 4-0 win over NFA.
This energetic wing-back/winger runs from first whistle to last and has to be one of the most consistent performers in Genero Adran North.

3 Natasha Spearing (Connah’s Quay Nomads)

Summer signing from Wrexham has made 15 appearances and scored three goals for Nomads this season.
The Deesiders are top of Genero Adran North with a 100 percent record – eight games, eight wins – and Natasha has been a key player throughout.

4 Beth Roberts (CPD Merched Henllan)

One of North Wales football’s stars of the season to date, scoring a remarkable 36 goals in 11 matches in her first campaign as a senior.
Beth has helped Henllan reach top spot in their debut season in the North Wales East Division. Top scorer in the North Wales League with 31 goals.

5 Laura Pratt (Airbus UK Broughton)

Goals is her game. Laura is the third highest markswoman in North Wales having netted 22 times in all competitions for the Wingmakers.
Lively up front operator who has helped ensure Airbus are well within the North Wales League East Division title race.

6 Catrin Roberts (CPDM Bangor)

Has played in 14 matches for Bangor this season and kept a clean sheet in the 1-0 weekend win over champions Llandudno, earning herself a place in the Genero Adran League Team of the Week.
A Wales Under-16 international who represented the FAW Girls Academy North squad last season, Catrin has been selected for the 2025 Ynys Môn Island Games squad.

7 Ruby Hastings (Flint Town United)

Has made 12 appearances for Flint this season and scored four goals, one an absolute cracker at Llandudno for which she has not been credited in the Cymru Football App.
Electric right-winger who at the age of 18 has proven she is well up to the challenge of tier 2 football.
Loves a straight burst down the flank, but is yet to secure the nickname Hastings Direct.

8 Amy Chesters (Kinmel Bay)

Now up to 12 goals for the season, Amy is a real shining light for Kinmel Bay.
Her finishing has been exemplary and includes two hat-tricks.
Works so hard for the team, a highly popular player.

9 Llywela Edwards (CPDM Y Felinheli)

Current leading scorer for Y Felinheli with seven goals, Llywela has been a true star for the team she joined at the start of this season.
Her left-sided attacking play, neat passing, strong tackling and astute finishing has made her a big hit with the Cae Seilo side.

10 Amber Brown (Llangefni Town)

Seventeen-year-old forward has – like her team-mates – been frustrated by the shortage of fixtures for Llangefni since she joined the club in November.
After a fine start to the season for Caernarfon Town, she joined Cefni and scored on debut on December 1.
Has tremendous potential as an attacking player and she should blossom at Cae Bob Parry.

11 Jess Woods (Trearddur Bay)

Since joining Trearddur early in the season has only managed to play in four games due to endless match postponements, yet has more than made her mark with six goals to date.
Jess has scored for Bay in every game she has featured in, netting a hat-trick in a 6-3 victory at Caernarfon Town this month.

12 Isabella Nardo (Northop Hall)

Has featured in nine of Northop Hall’s 10 matches so far this season.
Promising 18-year-old defender, who like her fellow players has been left short of action by endless game postponements.

13 Abi Cooke (Denbigh Town)

Ever-improving young defender who has played in all 13 Denbigh matches this season.
Key part of a Town team still in the North Wales East Division title race.

14 Annest Roberts (CPDM Llanystumdwy)

Seventeen-year-old ever present who has been a big success in a Llanystumdwy side beaten just twice in 12 matches this season.
Llan are still unbeaten in the North Wales West Division and Annest has won high praise for the consistency of her performances.

15 Katie Spruce (Llangefni Town)

Eleven consecutive appearances for a Llangefni side which leads the North Wales West Division and remains unbeaten.
Cefni have conceded just seven goals in five league outings and much of that is down to the outstanding consistency of their keeper. who joined the islanders this season.
