Ardal North West: Kinmel Bay win away, victories for NFA, Y Felinheli, Llannefydd, Nefyn and Trearddur Bay

ARDAL NORTH WEST LEAGUE – REPORTS SATURDAY, AUGUST 29

Bethesda Athletic 2-5 Kinmel Bay

A first away leadue win of the season for a Kinmel Bay side which produced some slick attacking football in wet conditions.
Bethesda struck first in the 11th minute when a corner from the left resulted in a header being cleared off the line, but an acrobatic finish from Corey Lundstram made it 1-0.
Two goals late in the first half got Ally Stubbs and Leon Field’s side in front.
In the 40th minute the ball was worked nicely down the left, Matty Rees fed into the box and Ste Kirk rounded keeper Kieran Murphy before finding the roof of the net.
Five minutes later a sublime through pass from Seydou Bamba released Kirk, who resisted the challenge of advancing keeper Murphy and walked the ball into the empty goal.
Early in the second half a long ball from keeper Jamies Roberts was worked to the right where Bamba cut inside and applied a clinical left-foot finish.
On 53 minutes it was 4-1 when Bamba played the ball from the right into Rees who worked it onto his right foot and finisned emphatically.
Levant Gundogan converted a 76th minute spot-kick to make it 5-1 before Lundstram put away a penalty at the other end which was no more than a consolation for bottom side Bethesda.

CPD Llannefydd 3-2 Llay Welfare

Tomos Salisbury clinched three points for Llannefydd with an 89th minute decider.
Gwion Owen edged the hosts in front after 15 minutes, but JJ King levelled on 37 and Ellis Hickey made it 2-1 to Llay before a Tom Jones penalty squared the match.
Llannefydd had Charlie Urquhart red-carded on 75.

CPD Nefyn United 2-0 Llanrwst United

Steffan Tpolis was a two-goal hero for Nefyn, breaking the deadlock on 29 minutes from a Gethin Trenholme assist before sealing the spoils after 94 via the same supplier.
Luke O’Mahoney missed a 64th minute penalty for the Rwsters.

NFA 2-1 Llangefni Town

Aron Hughes-Jones’ penalty handed Llangefni a half time lead, but NFA bounced back to win courtesy of goals from David Wallis and Harrison Bellis.
The hosts also had Samuel Kersh red-carded after 83.

Penmaenmawr Phoenix 2-4 CPD Y Felinheli

Comfortable win for Felinheli which could have been by a more emphatic margin.
Alwyn Roberts (2), Gruff John and Iwan Edwards shared the away goals, James Hobson and Toby Jones responding for Phoenix, who had Sion Williams red-carded on 66.

Trearddur Bay 7-0 Connah’s Quay Town

Thumping win for leaders Trearddur Bay, who had whipped Connah’s Quay 8-1 in the Welsh Cup the previous week.
Ashley Ainsworth (3), Sean McCaffery, Joe Todd, Osian Hughes and Jay Gibbs split the home goals.
