Cosmopolitan goalkeeper Klaudia Wojtyczka is off to Greece for her latest football adventure.
Klaudia, 24, who began her journey at Caernarfon Town but played in the Adran Premier for Pontypridd United last season, has been signed by Greek club Nhrhides Fthias Naxans (Νηρηίδες Φθίας Nexans) based in the city of Lamia.
She joins her new club on a professional contract after a spell with Keynsham Town Ladies of the FA Women’s National League Division One South West.
An excited Klaudia told Grassroots North Wales: “I’ve signed for a team in the second division (Greek (B Division) of the Greek League who are pushing for promotion into the super league and were recommended me as a goalkeeper.
“I’m extremely excited for the opportunity to play football full-time abroad and extremely lucky to have had this opportunity.
“Having only been here 3 days, the club staff and players have given me the best welcome and have looked after me so incredibly well since arriving and I’m excited to be part of the club goals.”
Born on July 5, 2000, Klaudia is originally from Ruda Slaska in Poland, but moved to North Wales when she was six.
She began playing for Caernarfon Town aged about 12 and worked her way up the age groups before making the first team.
Klaudia was part of the tremendous Canaries squad which won the North Wales Women’s League and Betty Pickering Cup double in 2017-18, but left The Oval at 18 when she moved to South Wales to study at Cardiff Met University, where she tackled sport science at undergraduate and postgraduate.
She represented Cardiff Met Development for two seasons, then joined the Cardiff City Ladies team which competes in the English pyramid Tier 3 FA Women’s National League South.
Last season she made 21 league and cup appearances for Pontypridd and earned regular high praise for her performances.
During the 2023-24 campaign, she made the Genero Adran League Team of the Week twice in a row after superb displays against top two sides Cardiff City and Swansea City.
She was also named in S4C Sgorio’s 5-y-penwythnos | 5-on-form feature after a magnificent performance versus the Swans.
