Danny Warren (Mold Alexandra to Airbus)

After seven seasons with Mold Alex, which saw him score 179 goals in 187 games, this 29-year-old net machine has decided to move on to fellow Cymru North club Airbus.

It is a big blow for the Alex to lose a striker of this stature, Warren having been a key figure last season as Michael Cunningham and Steve Monk’s side won the WBS League Cup northern and national finals.

Warren notched 34 goals in 37 appearances across all competitions for Mold in a golden 2023-24 campaign.

His 150th goal for the club in his 157th match came in a 5-2 NEWFA Challenge Cup victory over Saltney Town on September 13, 2023.

On his departure from Alyn Park, Warren said: “I have decided now is the best time for me to part ways and test myself elsewhere. I’m going to be moving to Airbus.

“One of the most difficult decisions I have ever had to make, it is with the heaviest of hearts as this club means the absolute world to me and has done so much for me and my family, both on and off the pitch. Some fantastic memories that will last a lifetime.”

Josh Williams (Connah’s Quay Nomads to Tranmere Rovers)

Last season he scored the stunning goal which secured Connah’s Quay Nomads a famous 2-1 Welsh Cup final victory over The New Saints.

Josh Williams was soon in talks with TNS about a potential move to the Cymru Premier title holders, but this week came the announcement the teenage midfielder has signed a two-year deal with League Two club Tranmere Rovers.

The 19-year-old first joined Nomads in the U8 age group and progressed through the ranks to the first team.

He stood out for the Academy during the 2022 season in which the U21s won the JD Cymru Premier Development North title.

Williams captained Welsh Schools in 2022 as they would go on to win the Centenary Shield for the first time in over 40 years. Williams notched a hat-trick against England en route to the win.

He went on to make 69 first-team appearances for the Nomads, the highlight his spectacular decider in the 2024 Welsh Cup final which was voted Goal of the Month for April by Sgorio.

Telor Williams (Porthmadog to Bangor 1876)

Exciting new capture for Bangor 1876 as they sign a player with plenty of high-level experience.

Williams was at Porthmadog last season, returning to the Traeth from Llandudno, where he spent the 2022/23 campaign.

Skillful left-sided operator who previously played for Port in 2019/20. Other ex-clubs include Flint Town United and Caernarfon Town in the Cymru Premier. Represented Wales at U18 level and was also trialist with Leicester City.

Bangor 1876 manager Michael Johnston said: “Telor is a player who has always been in our radar. He is an attacking full back who can offer balance and a threat going forward.

“He has worked with Eards (assistant-manager Sean Eardley) before, and Eards speaks very highly of him.”

Owen Cordiner (Corwen to Mold Alex)

Although Mold have lost last season’s two top-scorers, Danny Warren and Jake Roberts, this summer, they have managed to bring in proven net-finder Cordiner from Corwen.

The 23-year-old was leading marksman last term in the North East Wales League Premier Division for a Corwen side which won the Tier 4 title comfortably.

He knocked in 39 goals in total during 2023-24 in all competitions.

Cordiner bagged six hat-tricks over the campaign and offered 11 assists as well as his 27 league goals.

In various spells at Corwen since 2019/20, he racked up 73 club goals, also having stints with Denbigh Town (2022-23) and Chirk AAA Youth.

Joe Smith (Colwyn Bay to Mold Alex)

Class signing for Mold.

Joe Smith is a former Chester City goalkeeper and had a loan spell with Colwyn Bay in the Cymru Premier last season where he produced umpteen superb saves in his 18 league and cup appearances.

Joe said: “I’m delighted to have signed for Mold. Can’t wait to get going and have a successful season individually and as a team.”

John James (JJ) King (Saltney Town to Llay Miners Welfare)

A very interesting signing for Cymru North newcomers Llay Welfare.

The 20-year-old obviously impressed Welly’s management with his performances for Saltney Town in Tier 3 last season.

Played in 21 matches for the Bordermen last term, scoring six goals, including one on his debut and five in six outings during a great spell which involved a stunning equaliser in a 2-2 draw at Rhyl 1879.

Also featured in 12 Cymru North games for Prestatyn Town in 2022-23, so definitely a young talent worth watching.

JJ has already impressed for Llay in a pre-season friendly against Flint and is highly rated by the Welfare management based on his displays against them for Saltney last term.

Harrison Bellis (CPD Y Glannau to Denbigh Town)

This one was a real eye-opener.

Goal king of Tier 5 club Y Glannau, with 144 goals in 71 appearances, now has a chance to shine with Denbigh Town of the Tier 2 Cymru North.

Can he make an impact with his undoubted goal-scoring talents at three levels higher than he is used to? I have every faith in him.

Harrison was North Wales senior football’s top scorer in 2023-24 with 68 goals having banged in 62 the campaign before.

He said: “This is an excellent opportunity for me to test myself at this level having had a lot of success over the last couple of years.

“Now is the time to keep working hard and to try and establish myself at a club that is clearly going places both on and off the pitch, I can’t wait to get going.”

Jake Roberts (Mold Alex to Holywell Town)

The home of the reigning Cymru North champions is the next stop in the goal-packed career of exciting striker Jake Roberts.

The 27-year-old joined Mold from Buckley Town early last season and went on to snatch 24 goals for the Alex, including two on debut against Chirk AAA. Roberts hit the ground running at Alyn Park, netting 16 goals in his first 15 outings.

One of his most important goals came in Mold’s 4-2 win over Briton Ferry Llansawel in the Welsh Blood Service National League Cup Final.

Jamie Jones (Nantlle Vale to Porthmadog)

Joined Port this month from Nantlle Vale, where he scored an outstanding 15 goals in 29 Ardal North West League appearances last term and won every end-of-season award available.

A highly promising young creative midfielder. Was previously part of the Caernarfon Youth set-up and the Development Squad.

Just the sort of young player Port needs in their quest to make a quick return to the Cymru North following last season’s relegation to Ardal North West.

Jack Parry (Crewe Alexandra to Flint Mountain)

Attacking midfielder joins Cymru North newcomers Mountain following his release from Crewe Alexandra.

The 18-year-old was Aden Shannon’s second signing of the summer.

Shannon said: “Really pleased to get Jack over the line. As soon as I knew he was available it was important that we got him in.

Numerous other clubs were after him so I am glad he has chose us to help him progress.”

Earlier this year, Parry had a spell on loan with Ashville of the North West Counties League.
