CPD Y Rhyl 1879 will entertain Tier 5 newcomers Llandudno Swifts in the first qualifying round of the 2024-25 JD Welsh Cup.

It is one of the toughest draws possible first up for the newly-formed club reviving a popular old name in North Wales football.

In an island derby, Tier 3 Holyhead Hotspur will host revived Valley Seniors of Tier 5 at the New Stadium, while Tier 4 first-timers Bow face a tricky hurdle at home to Tier 3 Ardal North East Dolgellau AA.

The draw was made on Thursday evening for the Welsh Cup first qualifying round. 218 clubs enter the competition at this stage, split into North and South sections.

Ties will be played across the weekend of 26-27 July.
