Agony for Colwyn Bay as they came within a single wicket of victory at Penrhyn Avenue.
Having set 223-9, the Bay had their opponents 70-7 in reply and seemingly headed for certain defeat, but the Old Xavs tail wagged and they hung on for the draw at 144-9.
Bay won the toss and decided to bat.
They were 4-2 before Will Evans (82) and Sion Morris (31) put on 119 for the third wicket.
Evans, whose knock came off 66 balls and included 13 fours and two sixes, was third out, while Morris followed him just two runs later.
Skipper George Johansen added 28 and number 11 Paul Jenkins struck a very useful 26 not out to help the home side make 223-9 declared off 46 overs.
Old Xavs would have been buried but for a crucial 75 from Josh Dilworth, who was ninth out.
The last pair managed to survive, Bay’s best figures coming from Dulanjala Mendis, 5-38 off 22 overs, and Jack Parry, who snapped up 3-45. Jenkins removed Dilworth in his 1-21.
Asked to bat at Wavertree on Sunday, Prestatyn were bowled out for 77, and in reply the Liverpool hosts made it to 78-4 in 26 overs for a 20-2 points victory.
Adam Tidswell took 2-29 and Aarya Jadhav 2-32 for the visitors.
In the batting, Gareth Leonard made 18 and Jack Cheetham 16.
Liam Evans-Ford collected an impressive 3-35 off 23 overs as Northop Hall restricted Sutton to 161-5, but the visitors then suffered a batting disaster, collapsing to 42 all out.
Match cancelled due to rain
Ryan Holtby claimed 6-63 off 14 overs as the Bay limited Sefton Park to 203-7, but then the North Wales side fell apart to 90 all out in response.
Park were 62-5 at one point, but David Kelly (72) and Sarhad Rustom (54) turned the tide with a sixth-wicket stand of 106.
Opener Josh Brown (36) and Holtby (28) were the only Bay batsmen to make double figures, Tom Spilsbury bagging a devastating 7-32 for the Merseysiders.
