A 99th minute equaliser from Liam Morris ensured Bangor 1876 ended their debut Cymru North campaign on a high.
Breathtaking goals from Josh Lock and Owen Davies in the first half saw Denbigh lead before Morris pulled one back with seven minutes to spare, then levelled deep in stoppage time.
The league campaign ends for these promoted sides with Town finishing 6th, their third-highest placing in club history. After just a second draw of the season, Bangor’s final position is an impressive fifth.
Denbigh manager Dewi Llion named an unchanged XI but did welcome Harry Lockley to the bench for the first time in six months following a kidney transplant. Great to see him back.
The hosts had the best of the early action, just four minutes in Sion Jones bursting down the right before pulling the ball back to Paul Fleming, who was unable to hit the target.
Nathan Brown was denied from range before Lock forced 1876 keeper Carl Jones into a save low to his left.
With 24 minutes gone, the deadlock was broken, Lock unleashing a stunning effort from 25 yards into the top corner.
As both sides were about to head in for the break, what could be Denbigh’s goal of the season made it 2-0.
Davies picked up a clearance, drove forward and spotting the keeper of his line let fly from his own half, finding the net.
Half-Time: Denbigh Town 2-0 Bangor 1876
Lock missed narrowly early in the second half before Bangor had a chance themselves two minutes later as Morris advanced on the left of the box before picking out Corrig McGonigle, who was unable to get a foot to the ball.
McGonigle had another chance moments later, but keeper Aaron Jones was up to the task.
In the 83rd minute Morris finally netted for Bangor with a low shot from an angle. He almost equalised from a similar position three minutes later but his shot was pulled wide.
Denbigh manager Dewi Llion was shown a second yellow card with two minutes of the 90 left.
Six minutes were indicated in stoppage time and as time dragged on Denbigh’s Sion Jones was given a second yellow card for a foul in midfield.
The match continued to roll on until Bangor found a leveller, a long ball into the box scrambled home by Morris with 99 minutes played.
