Barring a miracle, the battle for the 2023-24 JD Cymru North title looks to be down to a three-horse race.

The leading trio – Airbus UK Broughton, Holywell Town and Flint Town United – have all applied for the FAW Men’s Tier 1 Licence, which if granted enables promotion to the top flight Cymru Premier.

Each team in the Tier 2 Cymru North plays 30 matches over the season.

Long-time leaders Airbus are on 64 points from 26 games, Holywell have 62 points from 23 and Flint 60 from 24.

Therefore, the Wingmakers have four matches left to play, the Wellmen seven and the Silkmen six.

Airbus have two home and two away fixtures remaining, Holywell three home and four away, while Flint still have two home and four away to complete.

Based on the current stats, Holywell appear to be favourites, but all three contenders are capable of winning all their remaining games.

Flint can achieve a maximum of 78 points and Airbus 76, therefore at this stage of the title tussle, 79 would be the magic mark for Holywell to be crowned champions.

But there is still a lot of football to play.

Here is the how the season will pan out….
