Talented young cricketers get set for trip of a lifetime to India

Two talented young players from Llandudno are travelling to India at the end of March 2024 on a cricket tour.

Carys Lambe and Jessica Price who both attended Ysgol San Sior primary school in Llandudno and also live in the town will be visiting Bangalore (Bengaluru) and will take part in a cricket tour for 8 days.

They will train daily and play their matches at the Karnataka Institute of Cricket and work with some top Indian cricket coaches.

The tour has been organised by Brad Donelan, a former first class cricketer and current coach who runs the Pro Cricket Academies in Chester and the Wirral through the winter and coaches at Neston Cricket Club.

The girls have attended the cricket academy he runs for the last three years, travelling on a weekly basis to Chester.

This is the fourth time Brad has taken an academy group to India.A party of 27 players and coaches are attending including their dads Joe Lambe and Colin Price, both of whom re core level cricket coaches.

Joe works for Cricket Wales and Colin is the Development Officer for Junior Cricket at Llandudno Cricket Club

Both the girls have played cricket since they were 5 or 6 years old. They have played at Llandudno Cricket Club since then but this season Carys is playing at Colwyn Bay.

Both girls are also in the Cricket Wales North pathway under 15 squad and play their ladies cricket at
Chester Boughton Hall of the Cheshire Ladies League.

Carys also travels to Cardiff every fortnight to train as part of the Wales winter girls u15 squad.

Carys and Jessica are both currently in year 9 at school, with the former at Ysgol Eirias in Colwyn Bay and the latter at Ysgol John Bright in Llandudno.

The girls have raised funds for the trip by selling cakes and wristbands through the winter months and also some kind donations from their supporters and families.

Cricket in India is worshipped by everyone there and it will be a once in a lifetime experience for them both .

The girls will also visit an orphanage and hope to attend an Indian Premier League cricket match involving the Royal Challengers Bangalore who are the home team in Bangalore.
