Young cricketer Carys Lambe is making amazing progress

Young leg-spin bowler Carys Lambe has had a summer to remember.

At the age of just 15, the Llandudno girl is this season’s top wicket-taker in the Cheshire Women’s League where she represents Chester Boughton Hall.

She is also progressing well with the Cricket Wales-Glamorgan Pathway project at under-15 level.

Carys hopes to be selected for the Glamorgan Pathway under-16 winter squad.

The 2025 season has seen the North Wales prospect emerge as top bowler in the Cheshire Women’s League Division One and T20 competition overall with 28 wickets.

Her Glamorgan team play in the South West Girls Under-15 ECB competition and were unbeaten through the season. Carys played a big part in their success, averaging 34 with the bat and taking 8 wickets off only 18 overs she bowled.

She is in her fifth year with the Welsh county having first joined the squad aged 11. Carys and her parents travel to train and play in South Wales and the South West of England through the year

Her other teams include the aforementioned Chester Boughton Hall, who finished second in Division One this season – their best league position for 4 years.

Carys also played for the Girls North Wales Pathway under-16 team, which beat all the other three regions of Wales at the Brecon Festival in August 2025.

The teenage talent started playing All-Stars Cricket at Llandudno aged five and progressed through the junior teams there.

At the start of the 2024 season she moved to Colwyn Bay Cricket Club, representing their junior under 15 team and Sunday side. Carys took her first senior cricket five-wicket haul this summer for the thirds against Mochdre.

She will captain Colwyn Bay CC mixed under 15 team in 2026 – the first ever female to do so.
