Alex Boss became the first Llandudno player to register a hat-trick this season as the Seasiders hit struggling visitors Llanidloes for six last Saturday.
Boss came on as a substitute just before the hour and scored three goals in a 12-minute spell, becoming the first Tudno player to notch a treble since Joe Chaplin did the trick versus Holyhead Hotspur in a 5-2 victory in December 2022.
The 25-year-old Boss, who joined Llandudno at the start of this season, has always played at a high level for the likes of Caernarfon Town, Bangor City, Porthmadog, Aberystwyth Town and Holyhead Hotspur.
He also featured for Ynys Môn in their 2019 Inter-Games gold medal winning campaign.
Saturday delivered the first senior hat-trick of Boss’ career.
Ethan Roberts got the goals underway at the OPS Wind Arena in the seventh minute.
Played through on goal, a lovely touch from Roberts enabled him to score from the rebound of his initial strike.
It could have soon been two, Fabrizio Murtas racing in on goal but, Llanidloes keeper Luke Evans dived at his feet tipping the ball out of play.
New signing from Prestatyn Town, Karl Clair, then rippled the side-netting after he forced Evans into a mistake.
It was a day of firsts for the home side, as before the break Mckenzie Slaven netted his inaugural goal in a Tudno shirt.
On came Boss in the second half and he soon drew a good stop out of keeper Evans.
In the 74th minute, Llanidloes pulled one back through Nyasha Mwamuka and suddenly an element of doubt crept into the final result – but not for long….enter the Boss!
The Anglesey ace made it 3-1 in no time at all, then added further goals on 85 and 87 to record that first hat-trick.
Danny Holland converted a penalty late on to complete the rout.
Town made it seven successive league victories by defeating Caersws 2-1 at the Recreation Ground – but they left it late.
Jamie Breese continued his impressive start to life with the third-place Wellmen by opening the scoring from the penalty spot on 61 minutes, but Craig Harris levelled for the Bluebirds.
It was another January signing who proved pivotal for Holywell, as Mike Pearson headed home a 95th-minute winner for the away side.
Second-place Flint Town United continued their pursuit of the league leaders with a brilliant second half performance to defeat bottom side Chirk AAA 3-0 at the Essity Stadium.
Jake Mann’s own goal set the ball rolling for the Silkmen just before the hour mark, before Elliot Reeves and Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro both found the net in the final 15 minutes.
What a win for Buckley Town!
Definitely one of the results of the day as they stunned neighbours Mold, who were on a long undefeated run.
Buckley’s recent resurgence continued as they became the first side to win away at Mold this season.
Liam Driscoll’s ninth goal of the season gave the Bucks the lead just before the break and after dominating most of the second half, the hosts finally got themselves back on level terms as Danny Warren set up Steve Watkins for the equaliser on 70 minutes.
However, Mold were stunned nine minutes from time as Buckley edged back in front courtesy of substitute Max Moore’s clinical finish.
Victory moves the Bucks seven points clear of the relegation zone.
Buckin brilliant lads!
This pair were forced to settle for a point apiece in a 1-1 draw at Bastion Gardens on Saturday.
The in-form Iwan Matthews scored his seventh goal in as many games to give the visitors the lead in the 29th minute, but the Seasiders levelled on 49 as Tom Weir converted from the penalty spot.
Table-toppers Airbus left it late to maintain top spot in the JD Cymru North with a thrilling 3-2 victory away at Ruthin Town.
Ruthin took a surprise lead 10 minutes into the second half as Tom Dyer scored from the penalty spot, but two goals in the space of six minutes from James Davies and Ollie Lanceley turned the game around in the Wingmakers’ favour.
Their lead did not last long however as Gwion Owen clawed Ruthin back on level terms, but Airbus had the last word as Davies fired home his second to win the game with just eight minutes remaining.
