JD CYMRU NORTH REPORTS – FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 18

Llandudno 2 (E Roberts 22, L Ellis 90+5)
Ruthin Town 1 (G Owen 86)

Substitute Liam Ellis provided the perfect ending to Llandudno first team’s Friday night homecoming with the winning goal five minutes into added time.

In their first match on the new 4G at Maesdu Park, at a ground where they had previously not played since September 2022, Tudno made it three league victories on the bounce to lift themselves out of the bottom three.

Llandudno already had plenty to celebrate regarding their return to the OPS Wind Arena with the women’s and men’s under-23 teams winning there on Wednesdaty and Thursday respectively.

Jordan Hadaway’s first team completed a memorable treble,

Friday’s battle with Ruthin Town saw the hosts’ Harvey Bennett have an early shot blocked before Fabrizio Murtas went down in the box, but no penalty was given.

The home team took a 22nd minute lead. An excellent curling delivery from Danny Holland was headed home by Ethan Roberts at the back post.

Roberts went close to a second before half time, which arrived with a 1-0 scoreline.

Midway through the second half, the Seasiders almost doubled the lead when Murtas got a toe to Roberts’ driven ball across goal, but missed by inches.

That second goal would not come and Tudno paid the price when Gwion Owen made it 1-1 with 86 minutes on the clock.

It looked like it would end one-apiece but in the 95th minute that man Ellis bagged the winner to send the home fans in the 412 crowd wild.

Welcome home Seasiders.
