REPORTS – WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 10

JD CYMRU NORTH

Buckley Town 6 Gresford Athletic 4

Having suffered a shock 6-0 loss to the bottom side in their last fixture, Buckley bounced back to winning ways in a game where they scored six goals of their own.

Although the final margin versus next-to-bottom Gresford was much closer than against basement boys Penrhyncoch 11 days earlier, the most important thing for Asa Hamilton’s men was the three points secured.

With new manager Dave Evans at the helm, Gresford struck first after 11 minutes through Paul Johnson.

Bucks were back on terms five minutes later, Max Moore finishing following Adam Boydell’s perfect pass.

Town edged in front with 35 on the clock, Harvey Ellis with an absolute rocket.

However, Athletic were determined not to get overwhelmed, and three minutes before half time Jake Roberts’ 16th goal of the campaign made it 2-2.

The home side pulled away in the third quarter, having established a 5-2 lead by the 67th minute.

Soon after the restart, Liam Ellis tapped in at the back post, Moore with the assist.

In the 62nd minute, the Bucks struck again, Moore notching his eighth league goal this term after Aled Bellis put him through.

Ed Brown scored his first goal for Buckley

And it became five when Connor Littler applied a smart finish from the edge of the box.

Things got much worse for Gresford when they had Iwan Roberts red-carded on 70 minutes.

Buckley bagged a sixth when sub Ed Brown broke into the box before firing in his first goal for the side.

Ten-man Gresford kept going, 90th minute sub Dominic Deacon grabbing consolation goals on 91 and 95 to round off a corking game.
