Airbus advanced to the NEWFA Challenge Cup final for a second season running after an impressive victory at North Wales Women’s League West high-flyers Llangefni.

The Genero Adran North visitors recovered from going a goal down to take the spoils 3-1 at Cae Bob Parry.

Cefni took a 14th minute lead when Ellie Coulson, a hat-trick star at the weekend, notched her 10th goal of the season thanks to a Jess Jones assist.

The Wingmakers equalised on 41 minutes when after a great passing move down the right, Zara McDonald crossed for Lucie White to find the net with a superb header.

All to play for in the second half and it was Airbus who got their noses in front in the 74th minute. Sub Lucy Vickers played a ball over the defence and fellow replacement Charlotte Dykes ran on with just the keeper to beat and fired into the top right corner,

And four minutes later it was 3-1 when White notched her second after another fine passage of play on the right, Ruby Ellis setting her up.

Kirstie Kural marked her surprise return to Nomads with a hat-trick in a double figure victory against long-distance travellers Llanfair.

Kural left the club last season, had a very brief spell at The New Saints and has been playing regular high-standard futsal prior to her appearance on the Quay team-sheet tonight.

Needing a tonic after a 4-0 home league humbling at the hands of CPDM Y Felinheli on Sunday, the Deesiders were never in any danger of losing to their Powys visitors.

Sophie Hodson and Shannon Hobbs also pocketed trebles, while Kylie Jones and Polly Wild-McGregor made up the 11.

Nomads, aiming for a third NEWFA Challenge Cup success on the bounce, will meet Airbus in a repeat of last season’s final.
