Llanrug United 10 Amlwch Town 2

Jamie McDaid created another memorable moment in a football career full of them when he scored SIX goals for Llanrug in a 10-2 hammering of Amlwch on Saturday.

That took the 29-year-old’s goals total for the season to 21 in just 11 games, with 18 coming in his last seven.

Of course it is no surprise to see this Caernarfon lad shine in Tier 4. For much of his career, he has stood out at a much higher level.

A former Welsh Colleges and Wales Under-18 semi-pro cap, Jamie represented Bangor City in the Welsh Premier in 2012-13 and 2013-14 and played in both legs of the Citizens’ Europa League tie against Stjarnan of Iceland in summer 2014.

Other clubs he has played for include Caernarfon Town, with whom he won the Cymru Alliance League title in 2015-16, Porthmadog, Holyhead Hotspur, Holywell Town, Aberystwyth Town and Llandudno.

Last season, he had a stint with Llanberis, leading him to Llanrug for the 2023-24 campaign.

Saturday saw him notch a double hat-trick against Amlwch in a victory which pushed United up to fourth in the table.

Also on target for ‘Rug at Eithin Duon were Dion Roberts, Osian Williams, Gethin Phillips and Jonathan Sadler, Tomos Williams and Shane Jones replying for the Anglesey side.

CPD Aberffraw 0 CPD Nefyn United 2

Rhys Williams and Dan Roberts grabbed the goals that mattered which clinched the victory which moved second-place Nefyn to within two points of leaders Gwalchmai.

Williams scored after 10 minutes at Cae Cynlas, Roberts adding the second on 47.

CPD Llanberis 2 Cemaes Bay 2

All-square at Ffordd Padarn, where Dion Owen (penalty) and Jonny Cyster found the net for hosts Llanberis, Ryan Folksman and Tom Wood responding for Cemaes.

CPD Pentraeth 2 CPD Llannerchymedd 4

Gwion Owen, Joshua Evans and Sam Roberts delivered the goals that put Llannerchymedd 3-2 up at the break at Bryniau, Dylan Jones and Kian Abbott on target for the hosts.

Just one goal was produced in the second half, sub Callum Roberts supplying it on 87 minutes to clinch the points for Medd which pushed the islanders up towards mid-table.

Division One

Llanfairpwll 3 CPD Gaerwen 4

Tomos Cai Rees Jones sent Gaerwen supporters wild with a 91st minute winner in Saturday’s derby at Maes Eilian.

Llanfairpwll led 1-0 at half time through a fourth-minute goal from Iwan Williams.

The Auctioneers replied three minutes into the second half through Calum Thomas, but then Williams added two more for ‘Pwll on 59 and 62 to complete his hat-trick.

There was a long way back for Gaerwen now, but they are a much-improved outfit these days.

After Llanfair’s influential Marquis Holland was dismissed for a second yellow card on 65, the visitors took full advantage of having the extra man.

Robert Boyes made it 3-2 after 69, then Thomas levelled it with 78 gone.

There was a huge finish in store and the Lon Groes heroes snatched it through that man Jones.

Llanystumdwy 3 Bethesda Rovers 2

Three points for Llanystumdwy after a great contest at Parc Dwyfor..

Recent signing Scott Hughes put Rovers in front on the half-hour, but three goals in nine minutes before the break from Owen Pritchard (2) and Robat Griffiths saw the hosts in command.

In a highly competitive second half, new signing Jordan Pritchard brought Rovers to within a goal of their opponents with a 72nd minute penalty, but there was to be no equaliser for the Howgets.
